With millions of bloggers out there, a growing category of bloggers is growing for the largest segment of the world’s population – the Baby Boomers. As the baby boomers redefine the sense of old age, it’s no wonder the internet is carving out their own voice. In fact, those who are in middle life are the fastest growing part of the population.
While reviewing the blogs, I tried to choose the ones that contribute on a consistent basis. The following 10 blogs present an interesting kaleidoscope of opinions from various perspectives of this highly influential generation:
50 Something – This blog is dedicated to the 50 something mom who leads busy life. teenage or college age kids, except for menopause and treatment with hot lamps. Part of Silicon Valley’s Mom’s Group blogs, it is one of 13 mom blogs around town. So not only can you see what’s going on here, you can also check what’s going on around the country.
Boomer Cafe – For eleven years, this online magazine has lots of relevant information for Baby boomers. One of the most popular online magazines for boomers, they have 41 contributors who provide compelling content on a variety of issues.
Midlife Bloggers – This is an online blog that deals with all things midlife mixed with sharp writing and humor. Its demographic is believed to be between the late 30’s to the 60’s. There are articles about careers, health, relationships and current events from a mid-life perspective.
Fifty Factor – The author of the blog was not happy when he turned 50 and decided to start a blog to chronicle his search for meaning in midlife. Funny and informative, you’re bound to learn something new when you visit this blog.
Twenty-Four to the Heart – 40-something Orange-county-california”>Orange-county< /a> native, Suzanne, gives a humorous insight into everyday life. They make this a great blog to check out.
De Boomer Paralipomenon – This blog offers an eclectic variety of articles that provide a snapshot into the life of Rhea, a former People magazine correspondent. Be sure to check out his handy spot titled “Are You Having a Midlife Crisis?”
Midlife Crisis Queen – A blog created by Life Coach Laura Lee. Dedicated to helping others get through a mid-life crisis, Laura offers helpful advice on a variety of topics.
Time Through – The subtle blog “what’s really bigger” perfectly describes the purpose of this blog. Refreshing perspective and intelligent commentary on everything from politics to aging.
The Boomer Blog – Run by veteran PR professionals, this blog provides a wealth of information on all aspects of the baby boomer generation. It provides a daily snapshot of news and events and how it impacts the baby boomer generation. Be sure to check out their research section for some interesting-facts about boomers.
