If you want an easier to digest version of Gawker, Jossip.com is the best choice. While Gawker makes you click through to other blogs in their network to get more diverse pieces of news, Jossip integrates everything into one blog and makes pretty decent editorial choices. The downside is this page isn’t updated every freaking five minutes like some require us to be.

The most amazing thing about this site is that it makes you care about a bunch of New York socialists you’ve never even heard of. That can be very confusing, but it’s just that the medicine is down a spoonful of sugar. Lots of successful writers, entrepreneurs, and actually interesting people going on here. In fact, in my head there had to be three.

Love him or hate him, there is a reason why Perez Hilton is the single most successful blogging personality on the internet: his page is regularly updated without overkill and his blog is engaging. Even when you find Perez mildly annoying, without noticing you breeze through 10 pages of cheap MS Paint sketched in paparazzi shots.

I couldn’t decide whether this blog should be the first or the last to represent the lowest common denominator on the internet. However, you should probably go to this place if you want to escape the real world altogether. It’s also a lot cheaper than buying plane tickets to LA.
