So here you are on the glittering field of Vegas. Lights, sounds, gambling… kids! Maybe you’re thinking of a family vacation to Las Vegas or maybe just passing through. Either way, it’s not difficult to get through the glitz and glamour. But where do you take the kids to keep them safe and you? Here is a list of my top 10 kid-friendly activities in and around Las Vegas that are sure to bring a smile to your face.
1. Sky Mania– Can you imagine a whole gym full of interlocking trampolines? Yes, the walls! Fun jumps for everyone, including a toddler-only trampoline room. Most visitors book a jump time of an hour, which is plenty, because you will be tired! One of my all time favorite places. I did the first back flip in Sky Mania! http://www.skymaniafuncenters.com
2. Red Rock Canyon – A few miles of the strip is one of Las Vegas’ best kept secrets. From a lazy walk through the towering red and white cliffs to technical rock climbs, this National Conservation Area has it all to all.http://www.redrockcanyonlv.org
3. Hoover Dam – It’s really close to Las Vegas! Maybe you’ll just enjoy a drive-over and some photo opportunities or take an official tour of the motherland itself. This is a must see for any visitor to Las Vegas. http://www.usbr.gov/lc/hooverdam/index.html
4. Circus Circus ® Adventure Dome– Get ready to roll! Roller coasters, that is. Adventure Dome features a variety of full-size, knock-your-socks-off rides with many smaller attractions such as: laser tag, bumper cars, or miniature golf. But it’s not a big deal. One day pass you will do everything at least once, and more times on your favorite rides. http://www.adventuredome.com
5. M&M;’Mundo ® – Well, it’s just a store. But the action felt like it! The four stories of this fun-filled store showcase anything and everything M&M;’s®. A custom made candy colored dining room set… you name it, they have it. Don’t miss the ice-cream upstairs and the free 3-D mini-movie. http://www.mymms.com/merchandise/las_vegas.asp
6. False DiscoveryChildren’s Museum – Do your kids enjoy playing with their hands? Would Susie’s pet love to have her annoying brother put her inside a giant soap bubble? Take this place to the south. Learning about science is just as good in this interactive museum. http://www.ldcm.org/
7. Blue Man Group – Quality will show that friendship is a family affair. I’ve experienced several production shows that are family friendly, but apparently that’s what some people think is acceptable content for kids. quite different from my accepted definition. The blue man group is an exception. It is not only clean, but a bucket of fun for all ages. Audience participation is the best part. http://www.venetian.com/BlueManGroup/index.cfm
8. Tournament of Kings – The Excalibur Hotel has many kid-themed activities, and this dinner show is one of the best. Be ready for the rider of your favorite real horse, real food, and real fun! http://excalibur.com/entertainment/tournament_of_kings.aspx
9. Fremont Street Experience – Many high-dollar renovations recently in the downtown area have made Fremont Street Experience one of the top spots in Las Vegas. Come down in the evening and enjoy the various street vendors “making” their talents such as writing masterpieces and rice-spray-painting. There will often be bands playing on the weekends, and the light show on the screen ceiling is memorable. http://www.vegasexperience.com/
10. Kids Question– How to get a place for kids to get in time so the adults can have some fun? Children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old can enjoy this story for a middle age. Video game rooms, karaoke, and a huge indoor playground are just a few of the activities your children can choose from. Staff trained professionally in CPR and first aid with locations in many hotels around Las Vegas valley. http://www.kidsquest.com/
