Old Town is the most historic place in Chicago and is a pleasure to visit. Most restaurants will be busy on weekends, but it’s always a good idea to call ahead for a reservation. It’s better to be safe than sorry. If you want to try and avoid the crowds, try and go a little early or late, not at lunch or dinner time. There are not many restaurants to choose from, but there is a very small area with a variety that has something for almost everyone. The prices are from the dinner menu, which tends to be more expensive, if you come for dinner you can expect to pay a little less.
