Well Mother’s Day is here and I’m sure like all the good grown children you ordered your flowers for Mom. Well, of course, this is the time of the year for the arrangement of flowers; Mother’s Day is the biggest day of all time for flower companies. But flowers are only one of the most important gifts that men will give to women that make online flower companies such as 1800flowers.com and ProFlowers.com some fast growing societies modern.
They are tough, but they are worth handling in your business. This comparison will help you to know.
According to Hoovers.com, 1800Flowers.com is not only an online site, but also the largest and most successful company with several websites, over 130 million catalogs, and over 80 franchised and 15 owned shops, most of which are in California. Their main office is in New York.
Not only do they sell fresh flowers and plants, but Harry of London needs a gourmet, fish, saucy animals, as well as chicken; greeting cards, home and garden gifts and precious ornaments!
Founder and CEO James F McCann started the flower business in 1976, still controlling 96% of the voting power and appearing in 1,800 flower television and print ads.
If you don’t like dealing with the website, you can call 1800flores and deal with a live agent. Well trained agents will either arrange or suggest a gift items if you should have them delivered in the morning and deal with them. problems that pop up like your flowers not coming, or the fact that your roses were left in the truck and now look like ashes.
Proflowers.com is one of 1800 Flowers’ biggest competitors. They have been around since 1988 and their main office is in San Diego. Proflores was part of Providence Commerce before being bought by Liberty Media Corporation in 2006. ProFlowers.com also sells not only flowers and plants but fresh fruits and gourmet and gift baskets, desserts and steaks ; pork and seafood packages that can be sent anywhere.
I bought items from both companies and found many similarities and differences.
Both companies have online websites, friendly agents and very nice products. But I would like to say that I favor 1800Flowers.com for several reasons.
1800Flowers have more products to choose from than ProFlowes. I could buy their beef, pork and steak packages from ProFlowers, which 1800flowers.com doesn’t carry, but I don’t think they’ll send meat or meat or 1800 Flowers has a selection of the best readings for women whether they have had a mother’s day selection or had a new baby. And if they can find a gift for my hard work at the shop for a mother-in-law who hates new flowers, they have a vote of approval. (By the way, the gift was a gift ‘basket’ that was inside a large textile magazine filled with gourmet junk food and gardening too.) Proflores does not carry things like jewelry and gift baskets are not as inventive as 1800flowers because they are mostly fruit baskets. Lots of fruits. 1800flowers had items such as giant chocolate covered fortune cookies, cheese, coffee gift baskets in a tin ornament too and for men part of the flower They win reports in various in-production categories.
The prices were lower at ProFlowers so if you were just looking for something quick and cheap, they definitely had your place. 1800Flowers.com, on average, was at least $20 more expensive in their arrangements, but their arrangements were larger than the ones I got from ProFlowers. So less definitely not more in this situation.
Greenness. Both groups of flowers arrived intact and unharmed. The proflores’ were a little reduced, but the stems were re-cast and they gave them more water and they were delicate. What confused me about ProFlowers versus 1800Flowers is what I found out later. Bloomers has its own network of suppliers and none of them are close to where I live! 1800 wire flowers from local florists are so fresh when they arrive. Also, I sent my order to ProFlowers, unordered. I arrange them. The container, which had to be paid for separately, came in a separate box. 1800 flowers arrived by a local florist, already arranged and in the delivery hands of the female florist. No pillow.
Live casino promotion. I must also recommend 1800Flores for their professional and efficient phone service. I called their line to make certain deliveries and found out I was a real live person and not an automated machine. My friend and I ordered from both 1800Flores and Proflores. With Proflores, that soldier’s wife, she ran into the snow. Although he ordered flowers from credit card (who is in Iraq). the name of the person he commanded. When called to find out the status, ProFlowers would not like it now if the flowers were coming in time! Didn’t ask for credit card information, price or anything except estimated arrival time! ProFlowers told her that she would have her husband’s email address in Iraq and that he would be delayed in the state, even though she realized that she was the one who ordered the arrangement.
When I asked the 1800Flores agent about this, I was informed that they have a special family strategy program so that this does not happen. In addition, they could indicate the status of the delivery while the recipient was not there.
Track Record: Nowhere in my research have I been able to find discrepancies in 1800Flores’ practices at the company. I found two major lawsuits against ProFlowers through FTD for unfair practices and a class action lawsuit for deceptive trade practices.
Whether or not this changes your mind about flower arranging is up to you. But overall, between the two teams, I believe 1800 flowers smelling like roses!
