Although I love my 2012 Kia Sorento SUV, enjoyed my 1998 Mitsubishi Montero Sport SUV, and supported my first car, a 1991 Ford Tempo, which I loved stalling while driving (even though it was automatic!), the best car I’ve ever had would be a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire Coupe I got after I graduated high school. That sporty, Green Manta, zippy car was not only my first brand new vehicle, that car literally saved my life. With the Sunfire’s safe build, excellent gas mileage, and user-friendly features, you’ll easily make this my car.

One night, nine months after I got my Sunfire, I was in a car accident while driving my 95 home. The air was thick with fog, and the roads were slippery from the previous rain storm. A possum ran in front of my car, and when I was a young driver, I swerved towards the animal rather than hitting it. The tires hit the wet grass with overcorrection, and sent the car flying into trees blocking the north and southbound lanes of the median. My Sunfire went airborne and cut a huge hole through the tree canopy. I had no idea how bad the damage was until my mother showed me the pictures of the wreckage the next day. The only thing unscathed was the damage to the log. Although my car was a total loss, he kept me safe. Seatbelts should be closed as they should be. The airbags deployed quickly. Fill the $20 Lake!
One of the fondest memories I have of owning a Pontiac Sunfire was having to take trips to fill the gas tank…when gas was only 98 cents a gallon! Even when prices have risen below $2.00 per gallon, the Sun Fire is still the best vehicle for gas mileage gas jasmine ever /a>. I was able to fill up my tank for $20 and easily get 34 miles per hour.
User Friendly
Although my Sunfire was a pretty sweet Manta Green color, it wasn’t fleshy by any means, but that didn’t stop it from having very user-friendly features. My father was not thrilled with the “plastic” interior, but I didn’t mind. It gave him a quality close to the space and he cleaned it easily. The knobs of the tool were ergonomically designed to be within easy reach.
Even though I had many different things and model cars models, the Pontiac Sun was my favorite. I loved it so much and it was so safe to drive that I didn’t hesitate to buy another one after the first breakdown. Safety, great gas mileage, and sporty features made this the best I’ve ever had.
