It’s time for my 2012 NFL week 12 predictions and picks. Let’s start with the NFL Thanskgiving schedule.
Houston is at Detroit on the turkey day opener at 11:30 CST. Can the Lions win a big game against the Texans? The Lions are certainly improving as the season progresses so it wouldn’t surprise me if Detroit comes out on top in this one. My week 12 picks say that Detroit will in fact gobble to a 26-23 upset.
The next game on the NFL Thanksgiving schedule features Washington at Dallas at 3:15 CST. The Cowboys need to fix a lot of wrongs down the stretch to make the playoffs. Can Dallas do it on Thanksgiving in front of the home folks? I think Dallas does win at home with a 31-24 shootout.
Tony Romo fires 3 touchdown passes in the win.
The NFL Thanksgiving schedule doesn’t end there. New England travels to face the Jets. Tom Brady has been lighting most opponents up this year. The Jets secondary is still reeling from some tough injuries. With that in mind, I think the Pats will cruise to a 33-17 win. Brady connects for three touchdown passes and the Pats get 4 field goals.
Now on to the rest of the schedule which resumes on Sunday. The Chicago Bears host Minnesota at Soldier Field. Will Jay Cutler be back? It doesn’t matter. Either way, the Bears will win at home. If Cutler plays, the Bears win 30-20. If he doesn’t, the Bears win 23-17.
Cincinnati hosts Oakland in another Sunday game. Can the Raiders win a tough one on the road? I don’t think they’ll be able to knock off the Bengals in Cincy. The Bengals roll to a 31-16 victory.
Cleveland hosts Pittsburgh in other action. The Steelers could certainly use a road win and that’s what they’ll get. The Steel Curtain defense provides 3 turnovers and 1 touchdown in a 19-13 win.
Buffalo travels to Indianapolis to face the surprising Colts. Andrew Luck puts up another 400 yard passing game and Indy wins at home 27-17.
Denver steps into Kansas City looking for an easy win. That’s exactly what the Broncos will get. Denver gets 3 touchdown passes from Peyton Manning in a 34-10 win.
Seattle visits Miami. The Seahawks should clearly win this game considering the fact that Miami is struggling. But I don’t think that’s going to happen. Miami gets a late field goal for a 24-23 win.
Tampa Bay hosts the high flying Atlanta Falcons. Can the Bucs slow down the Atlanta offense? The big question here is if the Atlanta defense can slow down what has been a suprising Tampa Bay offense. My 2012 NFL week 12 predictions and picks say the Falcons win in overtime 30-24.
Jacksonville hosts the Tennessee Titans in a game that’s tough to predict. I think the Titans can and should win this one on the road. Chris Johnson busts through for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns in the 23-16 win.
San Diego welcomes Baltimore to town in what could be an interesting matchup. The Chargers have been solid at home and Baltimore has certainly been up and down since some injuries. My gut says the Chargers will squeak by for a 20-17 victory.
St. Louis visits Arizona in another NFL week 12 matchup. The Rams will find it tough going on the road with a 28-19 loss.
San Francisco heads to New Orleans in the must see game of the week on Sunday afternoon. My 2012 NFL week 12 predictions and picks for this one? I’ll take New Orleans in a surprising 27-13 victory. The 49’ers offense shows signs of weakness on the road with 4 turnovers.
The New York Giants host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night. Can the Packers win a tough road game? Absolutely. But will they? I think this has the makings of an incredible shootout. The Packers win in the end, 33-29. Aaron Rodgers finds Randall Cobb for the game winner in the 4th quarter.
My 2012 NFL week 12 picks wrap up with the Monday night “who cares” game of Carolina at Philadelphia. Can the Eagles get it turned around? Can the Panthers get it turned around? If two terrible teams play and nobody is watching does it make a sound? Eagles win 26-23 in the most entertaining game nobody watched.
That’s it for my 2012 NFL week 12 picks and predictions. I’ll back in week 13 for another round.
