2012 NFL Week 16 Predictions and Picks

It’s time for the 2012 NFL Week 16 predictions and picks. For the first time this season, the Week 16 schedule kicks off on Saturday. Atlanta visits Detroit in what could be a critical game. Can the Falcons edge the Lions on the road? I think at least Atlanta can win a road trip game. But my gut says the Lions will find a way to win this one. Detroit leads 27-23. Matt Ryan was picked off three times in the loss.

The rest of the 16-week schedule kicks off on Sunday or Monday. The first game on Sunday marks New Orleans at Dallas. The Cowboys and Saints need everything they can muster to win as the season progresses. My week 16 read this one? I will lead the Saints on the road to win 31-24. The frustrations continue for the Cowboys in a tough loss in the fourth quarter.

Green Bay powers Tennessee in another action. The Packers should be on a roll in this one. Green Bay wins 34-13. Aaron Rodgers hooks for 4 touchdown passes in the win.

Kansas City welcomes Indianapolis to Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs didn’t do well against decent competition and I don’t think that will happen here. Indy wins by going 27-16. The Colts got 2 Andrew Luck touchdown passes and 1 defensive touchdown in the victory.

Buffalo heads to face the Miami Dolphins. Bills could get this one down the road, but I can’t see it happening as we head down the stretch. The Fish won an ugly 19-16.

The New York Jets host San Diego elsewhere on the week 16 schedule. Scutari have not yet hit rock bottom. But this put the nail in the coffin. The Eagles win 24-13, and Norv Turner gets the ax.

Philadelphia welcomes Munich. Not knowing if Robert Griffin plays, it’s hard to come up with this prediction. I still think the Redskins can win on the road without Griffin—though it will be much closer if he doesn’t play. The Redskins win 23-20 without or 31-20 with RGIII.

Cincy visits Pittsburgh. This both team games is crucial as we drink. The Bengals could technically win on the road, but I don’t think it’s going to happen in Week 16. The Steelers win 22-16.

Tampa Bay St. Louis hosts in a game that not many understand. I think the Bucs offense will explode in this matchup. In fact, I’ll take Tampa for a 38-20 blowout over the visiting Roms.

Carolina welcomes Oakland to town for the Week 16 schedule. I think the Panthers offense is starting to hit its stride. As a result, Cam Newton and the Panthers lead in a 27-23 win.

New England is in Jacksonville to face the Jags. Can the Jaguars pull off the incredible upset? No way. Tom Brady fires 4 touchdowns in the first half and New England puts a statement in Jacksonville. Pats win 42-13.

Houston Powers Minnesota elsewhere. The Texans were able to bring great numbers against the Vikings. In fact my week 16 predictions and picks say Houston wins 36-21. Adrian Peterson wins the all-yard battle against Arians Foster—but the Texans win the game.

Denver takes on Cleveland in another action. The Broncos have a big home win in this one. Peyton Manning fires 3 touchdown passes in a 38-16 demolition of the Browns.

Chicago goes to Arizona to face the Cardinals. The Bears will desperately need to win here. They have a defense to thank. Chicago forces 5 turnovers in a 30-14 win.

The New York Giants are in Baltimore for the day against the Ravens. This could be an epic matchup between two solid teams. My gut says Eli Manning put up a big number in the 33-28 victory. Manning has 3 touchdown passes and 2 interceptions.

The final game on the Week 16 schedule is Seattle hosting San Francisco. Many are harder at home than on the road. Therefore, I think the Seahawks will pull off a 23-20 win in overtime.

That’s it for my 2012 NFL Week 16 predictions and reads. I’ll be back in week 17 with another round.
