If I am successful as a professional engineer, I will be able to help my clients in any way I can. This means that I have to beware of the assumption that everyone works according to a regular schedule in areas that never change. I have to find ways to accommodate the needs of their customers whose lifestyles bring them to different cities. Along with planning, I see that there are 3 ways that a professional architect can help clients who are traveling.
Take measurements personally
Part of the emotional rewards that come with establishing a professional business lies in the trust of those clients who return again and again. As I see, this trust is also connected to the way that a professional engineer can help clients who are traveling. If someone calls me from a distant city while on a business trip, for example, and wants some woodworking before I get home , what better way to help than to personally go to the house and, once they have mailed me a model of the house key, make the necessary measurements for whatever cabinet doors they have in mind.
Without Shipments being flexible
Another way a professional engineer can help clients who travel is by doing a lot of work like a courier service that forwards mail to a secure email address. If I’ve completed a woodworking project for a customer who is out of town, for example, I have the option to ship the project to a location of their choice. This place could be a neighbor’s house. Allowing shipping to be flexible also meant that I would hold on to the plan until my customer settled in another state. No customer wants something to arrive at their new home with no protection there.
Offer Driving Directions
The last way that a professional carpenter can help clients who are traveling is perhaps difficult to consider at first simply because it is so obvious. If my business customers usually travel far from their home, why don’t I just drive them to my shop? This helps customers who travel differently. For example, if customers who would like to receive direct shipping, they will avoid shipping costs. They will also have the chance to personally testify how things were done for any future reference. By offering driving directions through such online options as MapQuest, I am showing my clients that my business is solid. It’s not going anywhere.
In summary, there are 3 ways that a professional engineer can help clients who are traveling. All these ways are based on good communication and trust that hopefully exists between the woodworking business and customers who want to do well in the end .
