30 Minutes or Less Soundtrack Review

From the set of the cult macabre hit Zombieland, director Ruben Fleisher not only brought in lead character Jesse Eisenberg, but brought in music supervisor Isaac Walter to provide explosive songs for the 30 Minutes or Less Soundtrack for the dark comedy his bank heist image is gone.

The crime caper flick from the real life story kicks off with Nick delivering pizza “Tick Tick Boom” by Swedish band, Alvos. If the song sounds familiar, it was also used in the movies Taken, MacGruber and Friday the 13th. The second song played on Nick’s Mustang is “Sure Shot” from the Beastie Boys from their 1994 album Ill Communication.

For Aziz Ansari’s infamous car scene, a bounty of sweet-sounding indie rock generations of the song “Promitto” from his album Actor – Caster‘s accompanying job is to do well. The song you may also know from Generations is “When They Fight” in the movie Hall Pass.

For Jesse Eisenberg’s scene as Nick meets Kate (Dilsahd Vadaria) for dinner are the songs “Quo vado” from the album Zonoscope by the Australian electro band Cut Copy and “Laredo” by Seattle’s Band of Horses.

Danny McBride’s scene as Dwayne at the club with Juicy (Bianca Kajlich) is r& b classic “Ignition (Remix)” from R Kelly’s 2003 Chocolate Factory album.

The first scene where Jesse Eisenberg (Nick), Danny McBride (Dwayne) & Nick Swardson (Travis) appears on screen together, he is at the junk yard when Nick delivers pizza. What is the perfect song choice? Hed Cudi’s song “Is There Any Love?” from Man in the Moon: The End of the Day.

From the 80s music back alley, it’s great to hear Billy Squier’s anthemic “Stroke” that plays in the scene when everyone leaves the pizza office tradition But they could only be closed for a decade and remain quite alone. But no, although he played sooooo much in the 80s, Justin Walter’s music director had to pull only Glenn Frey’s “The Heat” from the 1984 comedy, Eddie Murphy’s Beverly Hills Cop Soundtrack tormented a whole new generation.

Other songs for the 30 Minutes or Less O.S.T. include “No Hay Manera (Jason Roberts Remix)” from the Akwid Project by Akwid, Third Eye Blind, “Jumper” and “Before Up” by M.O.P.

At the end of the credits, Wu Tang ClanODB with “I’ve got your money”, then stick around until after the end credits Danny McBride (Dwayne) and Nick Swardson (Travis) at the tanning salon to set “Me So Horny” by 2 Live Crew.

The music design for Chorus in 30 Minutes or Less is by Ludwig Göransson although it is not known what the official release of the soundtrack or score will be, but individual song downloads are available on Amazon .com or iTunes. The movie 30 Minutes or Less was released on August 12, 2011. You can also see Nick Swardson in the movie Bucky Larson.
