Important Note: Before reading these verses of the Bible, my hope is, first of all, that we remember that the Bible was not written to us, but for us. That said, we need to approach the Bible as something more than a personal book to help us get through the day or ‘feel better’. I say this because these verses are excluded from hope and clearly removed from their original context. When I do, I am not an author’s study that replaces careful, contextual, exegetical work. My prayer is that we remember Bible study as much as we can in the original context before we retcon and search. application to our lives.
