4 Events in Spartanburg and Greer, SC that Promises to Bring Fun to Your Summer

Summer fun outside, nothing like it! Here is a guide to fun events and festivals in Spartanburg and Greer County, SC you can enjoy with your family and friends! So take this out and make some amazing memories!

#1 -Greer Freedom Blast (sponsored by Greenville Hospital System) in Greer, SC

Greer’s Freedom Blast is an annual event held at Greer City Park. The Greer Freedom Inspiration will be held on June, 30, 2012, from 5 pm and will last until 10 pm when it will end with a huge parade. I have attended Greer Freedom Blasium for several years and love it! For parking details and more detailed information, check out the clear link above.

Expect great food vendors, drinks, activities, crafts, and nine inflatables that the kids love returns this year at a cost of $5 per child. The popular Greer Teen Idol competition starts on stage at 5 p.m. At 6 p.m., contestants will compete and selected winners will advance to the next level. Competition each week following Tunes on the Market, another weekly music event.

The fun continues with the pie eating contest at 7:15 pm and the local Upstate band “Winnie Water and Planet-Groove” will provide a great shot, soul and a href= “https://e-info.vn/tag/blues-music”>old music. #2- Red, White & Boom at Barnet Park in Spartanburg, SC (Admission $5)

Red, White & Boom is Spartanburg’s official Independence Day celebration and will take place on Wednesday, July 4th, th at Barnet Park starting at 6 pm and concluding with a huge fireworks display starting at 9:45 pm. The Spartanburg Community Band will provide dinner that evening. The goal is to come and enjoy entertainment and great food and drinks sold in the middle of the park. Remember to sit on a chair or bring a blanket and your camera to capture the fun and the parade! General admission for the Red, White, & Boom it’s $5.00. #3-Free rides at Barnet Park in Spartanburg, SC

May your family sit outside on a beautiful summer evening and enjoy free popcorn and sodas and wait for a FREE< /b> movie? Who doesn’t like it? Movies are shown monthly at Barnet Park (see link in #2). Five years ago this community wide event was organized by the Hub City Church. Bring your family, a blanket and/or chairs to sit on to make yourself comfortable, and enjoy the evening! For a schedule of upcoming film screenings, click on Movies @ Barnet Park for details! Movies usually start at sunset which is usually between 8:30 and 9:00 pm. This is not a church event, but a community wide event for all ages! There is ample parking in the parking garages and parking lots around the park.

#4 – Free Weekly Music on Main Street at the Plaza in Spartanburg, SC

Every Thursday night from April through August, starting at 6 pm and ending at 9 pm, there is a big band filling the summer evening with music from Jazz, Bluegrass, Southern Rock, Country, Bluegrass and more, depending on the band playing. Food, beverages, and beer purchased on site. No admission fee is charged for this purpose. I’m there every Thursday when I can and enjoy myself, so I can personally recommend this place!
