Celebrating the 4th of July in Maryland can be a lot of fun for the whole family! There are many events and celebrations to enjoy! You can take your child to enjoy the holiday festivities at the Port Discovery Children’s Museum or attend the firework show downtown at the Baltimore Inner Harbor. Some of the events are free while others do require a paid admission. Here are a few of the 4th of July events in Maryland to consider attending.
Ports America Chesapeake Fourth of July Celebration.
The Ports America Chesapeake Fourth of July Celebration takes place downtown at the Baltimore Inner Harbor. This free event features music by the Pennsylvania Air National Guard Band from 4:00pm until 6:00pm, and the U.S. Naval Academy Band from 7:15pm until 9:30pm. The popular Baltimore fireworks show will begin at 9:30pm!
Port Discovery Children’s Museum July 4th Festivities.
This 4th of July Celebration will take place at the Port Discovery Children’s Museum through-out the day on July 4th, starting at 10:00am. The schedule of 4th of July Festivities includes arts and crafts, music, storytelling, science activities, and more! The Port Discovery Children’s Museum is located at 35 Market Place Baltimore, MD 21202.
July 4th Pier Party at The National Aquarium in Baltimore.
This 4th of July celebration will take place at the National Aquarium in Baltimore on July 4th from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. The July 4th Pier Party will feature live entertainment, snacks to purchase (or you can bring your own), and a view of the Baltimore Inner Harbor fireworks show. Reservations are required and those who are not an aquarium member must also pay admission price. The prices for adults are $25 for aquarium members and $50 non-members. The prices for children (ages 3 to 11 years old) are $15 aquarium members and $20 non-members. The National Aquarium in Baltimore is located at 501 East Pratt Street Baltimore, MD 21202.
Fireworks Spectacular at Six Flags America.
This 4th of July celebration will take place at Six Flags America on both July 3rd and July 4th. It will feature a fireworks show over the Hurricane Bay wave pool. Six Flags America in Maryland is located at 13710 Central Ave Upper Marlboro, MD 20774.
Celebrate July 4th in Downtown Ocean City.
This 4th of July Celebration will take place in downtown Ocean City at the Beachfront on the North Division Street from 8:00pm until 10:00pm. The event will start with a free concert at 8:00pm. Guests then enjoy a fireworks show at 9:30pm.
Celebrate July 4th in Uptown Ocean City.
This 4th of July Celebration will take place in uptown Ocean City at Northside Park, which is on 127th Street. The event will start with a free concert at 8:00pm. Guests then enjoy a fireworks show at 9:30pm.
You can attend as many 4th of July events in Maryland as you would like. Of course what you do will depend on the your schedule, location, and budget. But remember, the big fireworks show in the Inner Harbor is free! You may even be able to see it from your house! You can attend another event during the day and watch the fireworks at night, or throw a cook-out during the day and still watch the fireworks later. Whatever you decide to do, have a great 4th of July with your loved ones!
