When it comes to laptops, choosing the best can be quite a challenge. These are the 5 best laptops of 2010, listed from highest to lowest price.

Apple MacBook Pro : Based on customer ratings and customer satisfaction, MacBook tops most lists of the best laptops. It is my computer of choice for all things technical – from programming, to editing photos, making movies, etc. Up on a Windows PC, but I run to a Mac all the time for something that requires a lot of processing power. If you use your laptop as heavily as I do, a Mac is the way to go. At around $1800, I suggest that once you have a Mac, it’s hard to go back.

Asus U30JC: Unless you’ve been keeping up with all the new laptops, chances are you haven’t heard of Aso. Maybe they keep their prices low by not advertising. Regardless, it was MSNBC’s best back-to-school computer of 2010. Which is exactly what we bought this for. At just under $1000, you’ll get a lot of power for the price. It’s not as thin or light as the Mac, but it’s a good compromise between power, portability and price.

Battery Life: You’re advertised at 9.5 hours, but closer to 7 if you’re just surfing the net.

Sony VAIO CW21FX/P: My youngest daughter wants one of these, but I think it’s just because she found it pink beautiful laptop. Maybe he’ll release the pink color by the time he graduates, which is when he’ll actually get a laptop. Don’t worry, in black if pink is not in style. Br is ready to deal with the VAIO software in addition to what happens with it. This was the only issue I had with my coworkers. I’m not sure if this extraneous software issue is worse with the VAIO than with other computers. However, at around $680, I don’t think it’s too much of a problem.

Toshiba Satellite L515-S4925: If you are just looking for a functional computer to do your home bills, , write research papers or surf the net, there’s nothing that an expensive laptop can offer you.” An affordable, all-purpose, durable laptop, there’s no reason not to go with the Toshiba. It’s not great software. At around $550, maybe the cost with the battery They could keep it low. You only get 2 hours of battery life when plugged in. The display is better than many other computers in this price range, that’s for sure.

Acer Aspire: If you are just looking for a portable laptop to keep you with your electronics or You can surf the web, and make sure you don’t try any hard core gaming or programming on it, Acer is a great value. You can still view thin videos and do other things like photo editing. My sister bought one last year and was so happy with it, she bought another on Black Friday this year. Regularly priced at around $399, it’s a great deal. I don’t know if it’s good as far as the gloss is concerned, but if it’s there, don’t touch the shiny ones. Gloss only looks good if no one touches it. Don’t pick this based on price alone, though, make sure you understand that you only get about half the processing speed and RAM.
