With warmer weather approaching, the call for an open road is being heard in many ears. Even though that old minivan is great through the snow and hauls the kids like nobody’s business, there’s still plenty to be said for a good, spirited little sports car with a drop-top roof to make those summer evenings thrown at the ice cream parlor something really special. . Gotta keep it a cheap ride, right? Maybe not. These cars have been around for quite some time, as there are plenty of them on the second hand market in good condition.
1999-2004 Ford Mustang
After several of its round, shed-like looks, the Mustang regained some of the appeal it had lost during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Although not as desirable as the ’05 and newer Mustangs, there is an added bonus: these Mustangs can be had for cheap. There are many special editions available, many for less than $10,000 for examples between 80,000 -100,000 miles.

Although not converted in the strictest sense of the word, Targa Del Sol is easier to care for used cars. /a>. In addition, the most popular cars are still Civic Civic, one of the reliable and long-lasting car in the world. If you are thinking of purchasing one, you may want to keep in mind that these cars are popular with auto buyers, and those who know what they are doing and who are not.
1995-2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder
The Eclipse was the same size as either a four or six cylinder sports car and an economy car. On the top down, these cars seat have relatively good space, just in case you want to bring the kids up. A choice of manual or automatic transmission can be found with both engine sizes. Another popular choice with customers, beware of cars that have been significantly changed from their original shape.
1989-2005 Mazda Miata
The venerable Mazda Miata belongs on any “best cars” list. It’s light and fast, just the way it should be for driving fun. The front engine/rear drive layout provides excellent weight distribution, and the four-cylinder engine is gutsy and economical. Additionally, while many of these cars were bought specifically with summer driving in mind, many of the older ones are still in excellent condition when they bought their winter garages.

Like the Mustang, the Camaro underwent a major styling upheaval before the introduction of the new generation of the car. And this left the previous generation in the unenviable position of being unable to be their older brother. The benefit is that the price of all late 1990s Camaros, including convertibles, has been lowered. With a choice of either a V6 or V8 engine or a manual or automatic transmission, the Camaro is as versatile as it is easy on the eyes.
