5 Hot Cocktails for the Winter Holidays

Looking forward to some hot cocktails to warm you up this winter? Here are some of my favorite hot cocktails. They are perfect for a cozy evening at home or even a fancy cocktail-party with friends and family. All hot cocktails are easy to make and everyone will love the simple ingredients. You can always leave out the liquor and drinks and substitute selections from the baking gallery if you need to include kids in the festivities.

Hot Chocolate Peppermint Schnapps Cocktails

I hin milk (skim, 2 percent or whole) or half and half
6 ounces bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, chopped (recommended: Scharffenberger)
9 ounces pepper schnapps
cream, to serve
6, peppermint sticks to serve
1 cup of milk in a medium saucepan over low heat. Add the chocolate, stirring constantly, until melted. When the chocolate is melted, increase the heat to medium and add the rest of the milk while whisking rapidly. do not allow it to boil over.
Serve in small glasses topped with a jigger (1 1/2 ounce) pepper schnapps and a dollop of sour cream. Add a stick of pepper to stir.
If you are transporting in a thermos, you will heat the thermos with hot water to heat it for 1 minute. Pour out the water and fill with hot chocolate.

Hot Irish Coffee Cocktails

1 cup of freshly brewed hot coffee
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 Irish whiskey Irish
Heavy cream, lightly whipped

Fill a cold water bottle or hot water bottle with hot water to preheat it, then empty it. Pour the hot tube into the heated glass until it is about 3/4 full. Add brown sugar and stir until completely dissolved. Stir in the Irish whiskey. Top with whipped heavy cream by gently pouring it over the back of a spoon. Serve hot.

Hot Buttered Rum Cocktail

You make 2/3 cup of dark brown sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
1/4 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
a pinch of salt
3/4 cup of spiced rum
2 cups of boiling water
4 cinnamon sticks, to garnish

Using an electric mixer, beat brown sugar, butter, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt in a medium bowl until blended and smooth. Transfer mixture to 4- or larger glasses. Add the rum and then 2 cups of boiling water. Stir until the butter mixture dissolves. Divide the rum between 4 buttered cans. Garnish with cinnamon sticks and serve.

Melanie Lakes Hot Cider Rum Cocktail

6 ounces apple cider
1 ounce run

He heats the cider in a sauce pan. put an ounce of rum into the bowl. Add the warmed apple cider and stir. Be sure to use apple cider and not apple juice.

Starbucks Hot Mocha Cocktail

4 1/2 cups whole milk
4 ounces Starbucks coffee liqueur
3 cinnamon sticks, broken in half
3 cups of espresso
1 cup sugar 1/2
1 1/4 cups of raw cocoa powder
powdered sugar
1 cup whipped cream

Combine the milk and cinnamon in a heavy saucepan. The heat will be hot. Away from the heat. Cover and steep for 15 minutes. Whisk in the espresso, sugar, and 1 cup cocoa powder. frozen hot chocolate bring to the table, often a sleeper. Discard the cinnamon sticks. Add a Starbucks coffee rumor.
Meanwhile, whisk together the powdered sugar and remaining 1/4 cup cocoa powder in a large bowl. Add the cream and whisk until the mixture is thick.
Having hot chocolate in 8 mugs. Spoon the chocolate whipped cream over the top and serve immediately.
