5 Scholarships for Hispanic / Latino Students

Are you looking for scholarships to help Spanish students? Are you a high school senior and looking for ways to help out for college? Or is your son or daughter considering college and looking for support opportunities? There are a few scholars here in the future students who are Spanish.

SpanishCollege Funds

The College Fund provides Spanish College for many years to scholars in need. They offer the First in My Family Scholarship Program to Hispanics who are the first in their family to attend college. The amount varies from $500 to $5000. The College Fund Program also offers the Coffee Family Diversity Scholarship Program. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Spanish Scholarship Fund

The Spanish Scholarship Fund awards between 2900 and 4600 jobs every year. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need, have an index, and write an essay. Almost every year in the month of March. For more details, visit the Spanish Scholarship Fund website here.

Adelante! Scholarships

Another learning resource to consider is Adelante! Funding Scholarship Program. About 20 students each year receive scholarships of up to $3,000. Recipients must agree to participate in the organization and training of the leadership program. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Youth Opportunities Foundation (California Only)

The Youth Foundation provides scholarships to Hispanic/Latino high school students who rank in the top 10 percent of their class. They must also score at least 1000 on the sats, demonstrate leadership skills and be involved in the community. Students in California apply to at least 100 schools each year. Gates Millennium Scholars Program

Another program for Hispanic students is the Gateway Millennium Schools Program. This scholarship is also available for Native American, Asian-American and African students. They provide 1,000 scholarships at various levels each year. For more details, visit the site here. Founded by the Gates and Melinda Bill Foundation.

Vikki Carr Foundation Scholarship (Texas only).

If you are a Texas resident, apply for a Vikki Carr scholarship. Students must be high school seniors and Spanish. They require testing, financial analysis work, transcripts and test scores. Visit the site here (see book below) to learn more.

Los Padres Study Scholarship (London, New York and New Jersey)

This scholarship is limited to students who are the first in their family to attend college. You must also be a resident of New York or New Jersey. More than twenty-five schools offer freshman students. The amount varies from $2000 to $3000. For more information on this opportunity, visit the Los Padres website here.

Please note that this list is not complete. Many other scholarship opportunities are available to both Spanish and non-Spanish students. Ask your school counselor advice on finding studies. You never pay the price for learning opportunities about learning.
