In order to successfully promote your band’s music and get new shows, you have to stand out from the plethora of other links that are competing for your attention. Here are some things you can do to make your band unique, giving it a big advantage over your competition.
1. Enter a description of your band. One thing you can always be sure of is that people will ask you what your band sounds like. It’s a pretty typical question when you tell someone you’re in a band. If you simply say a rock or a pile, it won’t light any fires. Many of them don’t care if they ever hear your band or not. Come up with a cool description that you can be sure no one has ever heard before, and get your team fired up when the inevitable question comes up. If you say you’re going to play “light up the country”, you have a much better chance of getting attention, and once you get attention, your music can win them over.
2. Your band’s album. Cool job or gimmick for the album to sell a ton of copies. Theme albums are the most interesting, and they are easy to describe to potential fans. All these songs are evil, or “music this story of a girl becomes a butterfly. “It will surely capture your heart. If you’re not into albums, though, you can still make your CD look cool by using an odd, eye-catching cover or offering non-CD versions of your album. Remember, if your CD is just your songs with your band’s name written on the front in black, you’re not going to sell a lot of copies unless you’re the Beatles, and you’re not (at least not yet).
3. Your marketing campaign presentation. Again, you have to win people’s hearts. Don’t just put up your CDs and shirts, do the whole cause with lights and spring to attract people’s hearts. Be unique. Otherwise. And yes, be gimmicky. It’s good to use cheap tricks to get people to see your list – when they buy, they’ll see your substantial stuff.
4. Your show is a live band presentation. Every hand gets up, plays and gets down. Being unique and having more fans is another thing. Wear white shirts with the word intact all over your hand, make a drum like a barfing tarantula, or cover your guitar in lights. Something that gets people looking. So it is.
5. Your band’s website. Games, videos, whatever you don’t see on other websites links.
