If you regularly use Internet Explorer as your web browser of choice, of course you want it to run as fast as possible, but there can be a number of different reasons why it may be running slower than normal or feeling slower than it should. Often the slowdown happens over time, as you browse more and the cache is full, or when the browser is too stuck with additional add-ons that have been installed over time.
That’s why I gave a list of 5 ways you can speed up Internet Explorer and keep it that way.
Clear History and Cache
Having too much info stored in your history and cache can cause Internet Explorer to run more slowly over time, as more information builds up, the slower it will go.
To reveal your history and cell simply click on the Tools button (the viewing icon should be on the top right), then go to “Internet Options” and then under “Browsing History” delete the button, it should open new windows with options box. Check all the boxes and then click the delete button in a new window, this will open all the saved history. and the treasury.
You can also opt to have Internet Explorer clear your browser and history automatically when you exit it by selecting the option under “Browsing History”.
Necessary Add-ons
If you have a lot of add-ons installed that you don’t use, then chances are they use up resources and cause Internet Explorer to run slower. You may want to add any extras that you don’t actually use.
To do this, click on the Tools button and go to “Internet Options”, select the “Programs” tab, from here you should see a button that says “Add-ons”, click this and from there you can disable all your add-ons, remove them and take care.
Disable Tab Preview
By default, Internet Explorer will show previews of loaded files when you pass the mouse over on load. While the resource usage here is pretty minimal, if you use an older computer that doesn’t have a lot of memory a>, you might want to opt out. as much as is superfluous, as much as you can, however little it may be.
To disable the tab preview, click the Tools button, go to “Internet Options” then under “tabs” click the settings button and then click on the marked option that says “Show preview for each tab in the tool”. You will need to restart Internet Explorer for this change to work.
It begins without additions
If you don’t use add-ons at all, then you may want to run Internet Explorer without loading the add-ons.
To do this, click on the Windows Start Menu, then click on All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Online streaming (no additions). This Internet Explorer does not need to add any plugins, and it will not change your settings for the default Internet Explorer.
When you want to start Internet Explorer without adding add-ons, just use this shortcut to launch it.
Enable Pop-Up Blocker
There is nothing more annoying than having a pop-up when you try to browse the internet, which is not only annoying, but Internet Explorer can make the page load slower. Worse yet, sometimes these pop-ups can contain viruses and other evils that can wreak havoc on your PC.
To enable the blocker, click the Tools button, go to “Internet Options” and click on the Tab. From here you should see a check that says “Turn on Pop-up Blocker”, make sure this is enabled.
