So, have you visited Lancaster County, Pennsylvania? Can’t afford to spend money all around town, bored but don’t want to empty your wallet completely, or just don’t find “Amish Country” worth the money to spend? After I moved to Lancaster, I was put in the same situation. So I decided to do this list of things when I had no money in the area.
Museums.
Okay- so you’re a history buff. Or maybe you just want to get some education that doesn’t involve sitting on the couch watching television. Lancaster has some advantages in this case; although some of these are more amusing, so that he laughs then also participates in some of the arguments. Are bananas not your thing? Herr’s Snack Factory Tour is an awesome way to learn all that crap we all often indulge in- and try some freshly made chips. A tour Hershey Farms Park and Zoo or Hershey Chocolate World simulated tour are also some options. Keeping with the candy theme, visiting the Wilbur Chocolate Company Wilbur see candy made and developed Pennsylvania Dutch Candies at the candy plant. Also, the Old Candle Barn has candle making demonstrations (if you’re into that kind of thing).

Places to consider include Kitchen Kettle Village on Route 340 which has over 40 small shops and Farmers Markets scattered throughout the county. , who stands for many with goods and various arts. Central Market is the oldest market in Lancaster, but is only open on Tuesdays and Fridays. Also, The Outhouse on Lincoln Highway East is definitely an experience…
Go antiquing.

Go through some gardens.
Relaxation is what everyone longs for. Lancaster County has numerous parks that allow us to sit and take a break, or your children have some fun not having a computer or watch a game . Central Park in South Lancaster County has a scene of picnicking, activities and other family-based activities. Long Park at Harrisburg Pike also has play areas, ducks, and occasional children’s concerts. Chickies Rock Park on Route 441 is more for hiking enthusiasts and the more scenic. Muddie Run Recreation South Park Lancaster is great for fishing, picnicking, boating and even ballfields, play equipment; and hiking trails.
Free samples.
This is probably my personal favorite “free action”. Who does not want for free? There are many places where you can sample a variety of foods such as jams and juices, vegetables, relishes, salads, salsa, and more. Some of these places include the Chicken Village Kitchen, the Cohabitation Canning Society, Dutch Harbor (free samples of Pie Vola Shoo) and most farmers’ markets. a>.
