If you are planning to update your kitchen soon, you may be wondering what to do with the old appliances. Instead of putting it in the ground, or allowing it to sit unused in the garage, why not contribute instead? There are many organizations that would appreciate your help, and it’s a simple way to help someone less fortunate. Plus, it might qualify as tax deductible for you!
The only difficult thing about donating aids is to donate to a charity or organization. There are so many good people who need a little help, and everyone can benefit from having what you can. We no longer use it. Don’t know how to donate old aids? Try contacting any of the following:
He lives for humanity – Your old help could make a difference in the life of someone less fortunate. Visit the Habitat for Humanity website to find out how, or contact them at 1-800-HABITAT.
American Council of the Blind – Helps the blind and visually impaired gain independence by donating aids to the ACB (Council Blind American). Visit their website or contact them at 1-800-866-3242 for more information.
St. Vincent De Paul – This organization thrifti-stores all over the United States, helping millions. people every year. To find out more about donating, visit their website or contact your local catholic church to find out if St. .
Salvation Army – Salvation Army all over the country and thrift/a> greatly helps the less fortunate. To find out more about how to donate to the organization used by this organization, visit their website or make a pickup (1-800-SA -TRUCK).
Soup kitchen – Your local soup kitchen will use your appliances to serve a hot meal to someone less fortunate. Visit the Shelter Manager Directory to find out where a soup kitchen is located near you.
– Battered women can find safe haven at a local women’s shelter; which often lead to a stable seat. Because of the nature of this organization, you will likely need to contact your local police department to get information on how to contact them for information about making a donation.
Refugee Shelter – Another great way to donate is through a local homeless shelter. Visit the Shelter Directory to find out where one is located near you.
Excess Access – If you are always on the go and simply don’t have the time to search through any organization, Excess Access offers a simple solution. Head to their website and start listing the items you want to donate. Then, Excess Access will pass the information on to volunteer boards from organizations and charities. From there they will teach you how to make a donation. Pretty easy, huh?
Please remember that the tools used must be in good working order. Non-operational units, units with visible rust or other damage, or unsafe appliances must be accepted.
