Creative projects that use wallpaper
A bounty of home decorating ideas can be inspired from a roll of wallpaper. If you have ever used wallpaper in your home, it’s very likely that you have some leftover in a closet, basement or attic space. Don’t let it go to waste! Use it for any of the home decorating crafts below. (If you don’t have any wallpaper at home, purchase a roll from the discontinued section and save a bundle)
Cover a side table – Have a bedroom side table that’s seen better days? Repaint the frame and sand down the table top with fine-grit sandpaper. Then, cover the top of the table with wallpaper. To keep wallpaper from curling up on the edges, and to protect it from peeling, cover it with a thick coat of acrylic sealer. Be sure to tape off the frame of the table first.
Makeover your table lamps – Give your bedroom a fresh new look by making over your old table lamps. Remove the lampshade and spray the lamp with a coat of spray paint. Textured spray paint works great for this project. While you wait for the paint to dry, cover the shade with wallpaper for a unique look. Once the shade is covered and the wallpaper glue is completely dry, accent your new lamp with fringe, cording, or ribbon for a finished look.
Pretty-up furniture – If you have paneled bedroom furniture, or even a paneled wall, you can add instant color by covering the area with wallpaper. You can also wallpaper the backs of bookcases, curio cabinets, or the fronts of dresser drawers to add warmth and visual interest to an otherwise dull space.

You don’t have to be able to sew when making homemade home décor with fabric. In fact, not a single one of these home decorating crafts require sewing!
Instant Artwork – Make a bold statement with this homemade home décor ideas. All you’ll need is a bold printed fabric, a blank canvas square (available at craft stores) and a staple gun. Place the fabric print-side down on a flat surface and lay the canvas square facedown on top. Position the fabric so that it’s even and then pull it tightly and secure it in place with a staple gun. Trim off the leftover fabric and you’re done! You’ve made a one-of-a-kind piece of art that you can display above the bed, or anywhere in the room.
Room Divider – Every bedroom should have a room divider, even if you have no intention of using it for it’s intended purpose. A room divider can be used to conceal clutter, hide that unused treadmill, or as a spot that will keep dirty clothes hidden.
