The Quad-Cities consists of four cities which join to make a community. The Quad Cities consist of Bettendorf, Iowa; Davenport, Iowa; Rock Island, Illinois and Moline, Illinois. Originally the area was settled by the Fox and Sauk Indians, forming one of the largest Indian settlements in the world in the1700’s. The first steamship navigated the Rock Island Rapids in 1823, paving the way for immigrants from Sweden, Germany, Belgium and Ireland.
