If you are in Chicago, and are in need of medical care, but can’t afford necessary services, don’t despair; there are places you can go to get help, and they won’t charge you a thing. I have listed a few of these free clinics to help you get the care that you need.
Community Health has been serving the uninsured in Chicago for 15 years. Located at 2611 West Chicago Avenue, Community Health offers 21 types of specialty care, including cardiology, clinical psychology, dental, dermatology, ENT, endocrinology, gynecology, neurology, ophthalmology, physical therapy, podiatry, psychiatry, and social work services, among others. The University of Chicago offers two free student-run clinics to help serve Chicago’s uninsured citizens. Both clinics offer a full range of medical services. The clinic at Maria Shelter offers medical care for women and children, and the Washington Park Children’s Clinic offers care for babies and children.
