10 of the Top Oldsmobile Models of All Time

1901 Curva Dash

The first model to arrive at the E. Olds Redemption meeting, the Dash Curve quickly became the top selling car in the . The Dash sold for $650 and Oldsmobile claimed mileage of 40,000. 1910 Limited Touring

By 1910, ownership of Oldsmobile was taken over by General Motors. Even the curved Dash model was discontinued. In 1910, GM produced a much more expensive limited edition Touring model for $5,000. It is named “Limited” after it beat the 20th Century Limited in the race. A luxury car with a six-cylinder engine, the Touring was made in 1912 because few people could afford the car. 1949 rocket 88

Throughout the 1930’s, Oldsmobile continued to offer innovations in its models such as hydraulic steering and automatic transmissions. By 1949, his reputation had grown to the point where he used an Oldsmobile car in the Indianapolis 500, while he used his ’88 car. 1961 Starfire Convertible

As with the 88, the Star line also had the famous Oldsmobile Rocket V8 engine, which produces 330 horsepower. Available as both a coupe and convertible, the Starfire was considered a fine example. The Starfire also had leather seats up front and was available for under $5,000. This car only came with two doors and had aluminum exterior trim. 1965 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442

When Oldsmobile introduced the “442” model in muscle in 1964, it stood for a 4 barrel carburetor, a 4 speed manual transmission and a 2 exhausted But in 1965, Oldsmobile upgraded the engine to the 400 V8 and the second 4 in 442 now means the upgraded engine. 1966 Toronado

The Toronado was the first car with front-wheel drive. The Toronado was a full-size personal luxury car that handled very well. Like most other Oldsmobile models, the Toronado comes with an automatic transmission and a V8 rocket engine. The crowning achievement is the 1966 Toronado that Motor Trend’s “Car of the Year” award. 1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass

Since the 1970’s, Oldsmobile has developed a reputation for critical acclaim, performance and a loyal consumer base. The Rocket V8 was still popular and by 1976, the Cutlass, which had been Oldsmobile’s mainstay model for many years, had become the most popular car in America, units to sell than other cars. 1992 Ciera Cutlass

Due to the popularity of the Cutlass model, Oldsmobile eventually began using the name on an entire family of models. After Oldsmobile began production of its Ciera in 1982, it became Oldsmobile’s best-seller for more than 15 years of its run. In 1992 Ciera had a Buick engine and won several awards. 1995 Aurora

In 1995, Oldsmobile introduced the Dawn as a new signature model and began publishing the Ciera. Dawn had a new cash plan. As with most Oldsmobile models, the Aurora was a well-designed, high-performing model. The 1995 Dawn had a V8 engine and a computerized dashboard display. 2002 Bravada

Despite its strong reputation among car enthusiasts, in 2000, GM announced it would drop its Oldsmobile brand. American-cars is losing the battle for import sales. The last model brought by Oldsmobile was the 2002 Bravada. This model was a mid-sized sport utility vehicle (SUV). When the “Final D” models rolled out in 2004, it signaled the end of Oldsmobile.
