Are you a person that likes to do a lot of crafts? Do you have children that like to do a lot of crafts? Do you have a hard time storing all of your craft supplies? If so, you can make a craft caddy out of repurposed items. Even if you don’t end up repurposing these items, they can be bought from almost any local grocery or big box store.
What You Will Need:
Magnetic muffin tin (6 cups is preferable for fitting into small spots, but 12 cup works)
Six or Twelve clear plastic cups (depending on how many spots the muffin tin has)
Six or Twelve round magnets that stick to the muffin din (depending on how many spots the muffin tin has)
Glue (a hot glue gun and hot glue or a strong glue such as E6000)
Craft supplies (such as pom-poms, paint brushes, colored pencils, scissor, and glitter glue sticks)
Instructions:
Make sure all cups and the muffin tin is clean and dry. You do not want to be working with wet items when making your craft caddy.
Once all the items are clean and dry, you can begin making the craft caddy.
Take each cup and turn it upside down. Now, put a dab of blue in the bottom of the center of each cup.
Place the top of the round magnet to the bottom of the cup so the side that sticks to the muffin tin is pointing in the air.
Let the glue dry according to the instructions on the glue package.
Once the glue is dry so the magnets are sticking onto the bottoms of the cups, turn the cups over to make sure the magnets stay stuck to the bottom. If any magnets fall off, turn the cup back so it is upside down and glue the magnet to the cup again and let the glue dry.
Hopefully by now, all the magnets are glued tightly to the cups. Place one cup inside each space of the muffin tin. Being that the cups have magnets on the bottom, the cups should stay in the muffin tin and not easily fall out of it.
Now, you can fill the cups with the craft supplies. Do not mix the craft supplies in one cup. Use one cup for pom-poms. Use one cup for paint brushes. Use one cup for colored pencils. Each cup should have an assigned item.
The reason it is best to use clear cups is so you can see what each cup holds. You can use colored cups and choose to label them with a marker or a paper labels that are glued onto the cups.
If you wish, you can also use the idea of putting magnets on cups and using a magnetic muffin tin to be able to serve drinks so they do not spill as easily if the magnets do not make the cups tip over when they are placed on flat surfaces such as a table.
