If you’ve recently purchased new kitchen cabinets and experienced a setback, you’re not alone. Fortunately, there are several inexpensive DIY ways to renovate kitchen cabinets other than gutting the kitchen and installing all new (expensive) cabinets. Painting (I just chose it) is the easiest and cheapest way to furnish kitchen cabinets, according to HGTV. And you don’t have to stick with the traditional coat white paint. Thinking outside the box with a couple of cans can give your kitchen a variety of paint colors the latest trendy look without breaking the budget.
Paint the gazofilacia different colors
Check out this cheap and trendy kitchen update idea – paint the upper and lower cabinets in contrasting colors. White uppers with black lowers provide the highest contrast with a retro feel. Not all stores have to match, says Jacquelyn McGilvray of HGTV. Mix finishes and colors, more than two paint colors can be used and still create a cohesive kitchen look. Use a bold accent paint colors to define spaces and cabinet uses, such as picture frames for office design using a bold shade. of red Whatever paint colors you choose, make sure it is durable and easy to wipe clean.
Gluem on Beadboard
If you hate the picture, replace the kitchen cabinets by gluing beadboard to the fronts. Pre-purchase sheets of painted white beadboard, cut pieces three inches smaller than the door or drawer face. Mark the center of the beadboard on the doors/trenches and edges with a pencil, apply direct contact cement to the back of the beadboard and press into place, lining up the edges with pencil lines for the door and drawer fronts. Add trim around the edges with contact glue or finishing nails for a polished look. Add matching crown molding to the box tops and give your DIY maker a high-end designer look.
Look at the natural kitchen or rustic-kitchen, get the unfinished beadboard, and leave it natural or use glass or stain.
Replace Hardware
One of the cheapest and fastest ways to look at kitchen cabinets is to replace the hardware. If the old door and drawer pulls only have one screw, you are not limited to replacing them with the same type; a second hole can be drilled in each drawer and panel door to accommodate a second screw attachment. The reverse (from two screws to one) can also be accomplished by re-facing the drawer/door fronts or by filling in both holes with wood filler, drying smooth, painting and drilling a new hole in the center.
Take the door off
Opt for a trendy open trench look by removing kitchen cabinet doors. Paint the back walls and wallpaper or apply wall papers in the middle of the screen. Painting or papering the back wall will add visual depth to the cabinet and provide a backdrop for displaying dishes and stemware. If more flair is desired, add a simple yet elegant open plan kitchen with these simple designs from HGTV.
