When you’re looking for something else to do on the town at night, consider hitting one of Atlanta, Georgia’s comedy clubs.

You’ve probably heard of the big name comedy clubs like Punchline and Funny Firm, but these smaller clubs offer something a little different. For his unique experience, he skipped the major comedy clubs and shot at one of these smaller venues.
Please note that these clubs are 18 and Up and will most likely require ID.

With a cozy stadium and only 74 seats, it’s easy to get up close and personal laughing at this comedy. . Creative Loafing Atlanta voted this small venue the “Best Comedy Club In Atlanta” for 2009, and it has earned its reputation as a fairly new addition to the comedy scene.
Don’t let the small size of this Atlanta comedy club fool you — the laughs are big, and this club draws some big names in stand-up comedy. plus size of this comedy club is defined for performances, and adds to the intimate feeling. The seats are comfortable, the shows are hip and smart, and there isn’t a bad seat in the house.
Laughing Skulls in the back of Vortex (an Atlanta staple, known to have the best burgers in Atlanta). No food is sold during the show, but you can eat at Vortex before or after the show, or hit one of the many other diners and restaurants within walking distance.
Two-item is the least in the hall. Ticket prices vary, but fall in the $15-23 range.

Take a group of owners and players who are in it to have as much fun as the audience, add an audience that not only loves to participate, but is also often funny as a comedian, and hilarity will follow. The place is fun, fun, fun.
Everyone is funny, from the audience, and it’s really hard to find a comedy this cheap.
Ticket prices ranged from $5 for students to $10 for everyone else.
Call ahead to explore the show, as it varies from improv comedy to Mystery Science Theater 3K meets The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and even family comedy nights.
BASIS Theater has a small bar, but you can also bring your own drinks. Have lunch first — no dinner is served, but they have pretty good snacks.

One of Atlantis’ best sacred, improv club Father Garage is not your parents’ comedy. His hip, witty, sharp humor will either fly over your head, or rather than grab you in the stomach and make you double over with laughter.
Creative Loafing has voted them “Best Theater Company and Improv Group” for five years running and they deserve the honor.
This comedy club has grown over the years, and is one of the most creative and innovative comedy clubs in Atlanta.
Reservations are encouraged, but tickets can be purchased at the door. Ticket prices vary depending on the show and time, so call ahead or check the website.
(On my last visit, Dad offered a selection of beer, so let’s try it out if you want to enjoy a grown-up drink with you.)
