Cole Hamels Baby Son Now Born in Controversy

Cole Hamels’ baby was due any day now, but Phillies fans would prefer if Cole Hamels’ baby arrived today, not yesterday. Baby Cole Hamels is now born under a cloud of uncertainty surrounding his father, after yesterday’s loss to the Phillies. But next week, baby Cole Hamels may be front and center on Hamels’ mind when he doesn’t pitch for the rest of the NLDS. The Phillies faithful may be a little more relieved about that after his Game 2 start — though Hamels had other things on his mind minutes later.

Baby Cole Hamels’ son was born yesterday in Philadelphia, when Heidi Strobel went into labor just minutes after her husband was taken out of Phillies-Rockies Game 2. Immediately after he returned, he left the dugout and flew to the hospital. to be next to Theban, according to Yahoo Sports.

Hamels’ mind before his start was already in question when his wife was about to give birth. After going just five innings and allowing four runs in a 5-4 loss to the Phillies, baby Cole Hamels is suspected of being one of the reasons that the new family’s concerns may have played with his head. The Flint Line might have had a bit of a hand in it, however, with a two-runhome run a> and two holy- fiction

Cole Hamels has had a rough year around and was at the center of several stories this week going into the NLDS. First, Charlie Manuel put the 2008 World Series MVP as the Game 2 starter instead of the Game 1 starter. Second, Hamels pushed MLB’s decision to push the Phillies into two game day snacks this week – and Hamels doesn’t have a win day game every time.

In the end, Manuel made the right call to go with Cliff Lee in Game 1, when the Phillies got the lone win. Cole Hamels’ baby was born on an otherwise dark day in Philadelphia, as the Phillies are now in a big game against the Rockies.

Since Hamels was the Game 2 starter, and Manuel is using a four-man rotation — though no one knows what the back of that rotation will be yet — Hamels will likely be out the rest of the series. If it goes to Game 5, Cliff Lee will probably start the winner every game, which now looks much more promising for Phillies fans.

Cole Hamels’ baby son should receive his father’s undivided attention in the next few days. But if the Phillies make it to the NLCS, and use Lee in Game 5, Hamels will then likely start Game 1 of the next series. After that, we hope that Hamels’ head is clear to the fans, and we can achieve another World Series. a ring in honor of his son.

But first, the Phillies had to get past the Rockies, a much more difficult start today than yesterday. If the Phillies dropped in first place, then Cole Hamels’ baby could be cited for as unfair a reason as it is. But the Phillies bullpen, the back of the starting rotation, the slow start of the offense, and the cold weather in Denver will be much more factors this weekend than the baby.
