3 Great Car Museums in the U.S.

Just as foodies plan their trips around a certain restaurant or winery, just as car-lovers try to plan our trips so we can visit a car museum or collection. Here are three great coaches here in the United States:

The Collections at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas

Located on the top of the enclosed parking lot of the palace Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, the Imperial Palace car collection is now running by the company of auto auctions and auctions, and Moss is one of the car museums where everything is for sale. If you do well enough in the casino, you can take your winnings up and push them in the classic.

The collection was opened in 1981, and I have visited several times. There are always about 200 interesting cars, interesting celebrity cars, racers, and other custom and rare vehicles. . The collection changes, but also always some interesting political events. The last time I was there, they had American presidential limos as well as cars from Mussolini and the Emperor of Japan. A separate place was filled by the Duesenbergs, who died. Tickets are $8.95 for adults, $5 for kids and older, and the collection is open seven days a week, from at 6 p.m.

Tip: Free tickets are available – check in front of the casino doors on Las Vegas Boulevard. Hotel employees usually pass out flyers with free tickets to encourage people to come to the casino. A free ticket is also available for printing on the collection website.

Petersen Automotive Museum

The Petersen Museum is located in Los Angeles and was started by visionary publisher Robert Petersen and his wife Margie. Petersen created Hot Rod Magazine and many other automotive publications. Their donation of more than $30 million has helped build a museum that has really come into its own over the years. After starting out as just a bunch, the museum now has themed exhibits and shows celebrating all things automotive. .

Phil Hill exhibits a legendary driver, another on scooters, and one on supercars show the diversity of the museum. Adult admission is $10, kids $5. Hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. The museum is just across the street from the great Los Angeles County Museum of Art, which makes it easy to visit both. at the same hour

Blackhawk Museum

Just outside San Francisco, the Blackhawk Museum features vehicles from the Blackhawk collection, known worldwide as one of the finest collections in the world. This is not the most modern car; These are classic vehicles from the first half of the 20th century, cars that were featured in the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, and other auto shows. They are known as “coaches” because they are built by separate companies. One company was building chassis and engines, another was a brand of auto bodies, and another was a brand of interior fit. I have seen them in different shows and events, and they are works of art. The museum displays around 100 cars, with rotating exhibits.
