I’m not sure when one of the original “The Firm” Total Body Workouts was first released by Susan Harris, but leg warmers; the outfits and hairstyles remind me of the 1980s.
Although the firm’s “Total Body Workout: Body Sculpting Basics” tape/DVD may be outdated, it claims to provide “visible results in just 10 workouts.”
This month I decided to test the effectiveness of various “The Firm” workouts. I have my “fanny elevator” and a series that includes “Cardio Sculpt” with Allie, “Sculpt”workout experience to see if you achieved visible results in 10 sessions using fanny lifting and The Firm DVDs :
Workout No. 1: I started with Cardio Sculpt which combines aerobic and light weight training. I was using heart rate monitor and noticed that I stayed in the fat burning zone through toning exercises.
Workout No. 2: I decided to focus on my heart by making Ab Sculpt. I liked the fact that this DVD was only 25 minutes long so I wasn’t too busy afterwards.
Workout No. 3: I decided to do Cardio Sculpt again as a good aerobic workout. Using the Fanny Lifter my heart rate would be pumped up. Some of the purple and blue Fanny Lifter exercises required knitting “steps” that require some practice.
Workout No. 4: I used the Firm Total Body Workout with Susan Harris. Incredible. He uses weights in the beginning to work mostly upper body and then moves to the floor for a lot of work. This practice reminds you why you have a body. “Isn’t this better than diet?” Harris is looking for one place on the DVD. I can’t help but agree that my legs burn too.
Workout No. 5: I used “Body Sculpt” DVD with workout by Jennifer’s teacher. This workout seems to be more focused on weights than cardio, but my heart rate was still in the fat burning zone . She keeps it interesting.
Workout No. 6: From Sculpt.
Workout No. 7: Cardio Sculpt.
Workout No. 8: Body Sculpt.
Workout No. 9: Total Body Workout.
Workout No. 10: From Sculpt.
Results: After 10 workouts this month with the Firma system, I lost 5 pounds and five inches.
Bibliopola: I have to say that the DVD with Susan Harris was incredible about toning legs and hips. But equally impressive was the “Cardio Sculpt” routine, which offered both toning and aerobics all in one.
Bottom line: Thumbs up.
