When you drive down Creek Road in Delanco, New Jersey, across the street from the Roller Rink, some trucking facilities, and a FedEx station, you’ll come across something you’d like to find in this industrial area of town – one. of the largest parks in the Burlington County park system – Pennington Park.
Penington Park sits on 140 acres on Rancocas Creek, east of the Delaware River in the suburbs of Philadelphia, and boasts not one, but two dog parks. The larger of the two dog parks, on 1 1/2 acres, is designed for older dogs, while the other is a dog park, nearly three the sharp part is where the smaller dogs can have fun with their canine brothers and sisters.
On a normal weekend you could find anywhere from 10 to 40 dogs at any one time using the small and large areas to play “But no today because of the weather,” said Meg Biddle near Moorestown, New Jersey. This particular park has amazing trails walking, I ride with the dog, I ride sandy trails, and there are some macadam trails , I think there’s something for the whole family here, someone could be in the dog park, someone could walk, someone could bike, there’s a ‘covenant’ there, it’s really great,” Biddle said.
Each dog park has a covered area with many picnic tables and benches for dog owners to take a break after running around the park with their canine companion. Dog owners and dogs alike will have to work together as the dogs hit various obstacles, such as tunnels, circles, and steps. Both dogs are surrounded by long four-legged fences in the garden, and they have a double breakout port to prevent dogs from getting out, as the other dogs enter. Although I do not own any dogs, I had the opportunity to visit a large dog park in Penington Park on one of those curious weeks that has a few dozen dogs present, when my sister came into town with her dogs. . Pennington Park has seven picnic shelters (including two in the dog park), numerous fitness stations along the trails, stations overlooking Rancocas Creek, and observation decks. There are 40 parking spaces at the east end of Pennington Park near the dog park, and 95 parking spaces at the west end of the park near the playground. Full restroom facilities are available at the west end of the park and Porta-Potties are located at the east end.
Penington Park is open at 7 a.m. in the evening, and all dogs must be licensed, vaccinated, and have an I.D. collar. they must wear and permit tags at all times, and must be accompanied by a driver 18 or older. Children younger than eight years old are not allowed in the dog park areas for safety reasons. There is a limit of two dogs per handler, and dogs under four months are prohibited. The dog park is limited to 20 dogs and 25 handlers in each section.
Chris Biddle said, “This is the best dog park this side of New Jersey,” and I couldn’t agree more.
