Seniors live throughout the upper west side of New York. Volunteers offer companionship and conversation to seniors who are often left alone and forgotten. Volunteers can also take an elderly person outside for a walk or to nearby stores; shop and/or give gifts for a senior; read to the elderly visually impaired; and perhaps play scrabble or other word game; teach basic computer skills; organize papers or write some letters. All it takes is an hour or two weeks to make a difference in someone’s life. A schedule is worked out between the volunteers and their seniors.
