In Conroe, there are three places that stand out to my mind as a roast connoisseur; Mc Kenzies Burgers and Fries, Country Roads, and Honey Bee Ham.
Mc Kenzie is a family owned business with a down home atmosphere. Walk through the doors and it’s like you’re at an indoor summer picnic with friends and family. The burgers are phenomenal and full of flavor. He will not be confused. They also have great specials like “Kids Eat Free” and “Buy One Another Burger for $1” They’re in Conroe , Montgomery or Huntsville.

New to Conroe is the Country Roads restaurant. Although they are new, they are already on my list as the best burgers around. No one can accuse the Roads of the country of being all flashy, or lacking in flavor. The decor is simple at best and reminds me of Cracker Barrel. That said, the food is mouth wateringly yummy! When I ordered a burger there, it was so big, I couldn’t finish the whole thing, for lack of trying. If you want a burger that tastes like your barbecue pit just left, this is it. They also have Poker Nights and serve breakfast. This place is going places fast!

Montgomery CountyHoney Bee Ham serves burgers Now, don’t let that scare you away from the awesome burger experience. When I was told that they were the best, I was skeptical because all I knew about Honey Bee Ham was, well, ham. I was not cheated. Hand patted burgers and beer battered onion rings made my day! Established in 1989, it has a small upstairs where they do a lot of cooking, so you might want to take your own. Either way, you’ll be glad you tried one of the Honey Bee Cham Gourmet Burgers. And, if you are interested, you can also order Tur-Duc-Hens there.
