We have a message to share with the little ones we work with in Sunday school. We often share the gospel, or a biblical story. Crafts can be fun, hands on to help represent the story and give your learners something to take home to remind them of their message and start a great conversation to share it with others. Sometimes we have lesson plans with craft ideas and other times we are left to come up with our own art ideas. Milk cartons are usually plentiful and quick to stock up on and there are so many great Sunday school crafts that can be created from milk cartons.
Make a baby gift basket for Moses.
The story of the baby Moses a, placed in a basket by his family and placed in the river to safety, is a favorite story. little children It is a great story of love and faith and in a wonderful way God works out his plans from Exodus.
How do you use milk?
Before the race, turn the balls of milk on their sides and cut a slit along three sides to lift the “pan”. Milk cartons can be covered with “canes” made from cardboard strips applied with Mod Podge. If enough Mod Podge is used, the baby Moses basket actually floats so the kids can celebrate the wonderful plans God had for Moses. .
Make a bird feeder to celebrate creation.
The creation story, in Genesis, is another kid favorite. God created the beasts of the earth and sea and sky and gave man dominion over them.
How do you use milk?
Milk thistle can make a great bird feeder. Before the class enters, a square is cut from two parallel sides of the bird. Allows kids to decorate milk cartons and pieces of paper. A layer of Mod Podge covering some weather will provide ideal feeding birds. Kids can also decorate with natural touches like pine cones, acorns or bushes. Insert a perforated iron into the top of the milk tray. Chenille stems are ridiculously easy to use. Make sure that each child has a stuffed bird feeder hang a bird to celebrate God’s wonder. creation
Create a unique Noah’s Ark.
Children love the story of Noah’s ark from Genesis. Faithful Noah built an ark and put his family and pairs of all the animals in the ark to save it from the flood.
How do you use milk?
Milk milk turned on its side will make a fabulous box. Before the children come to class, cut the top side of the milk carton. Again, you can cover the milk with packets of brown paper bags. The Podge method is optional, but it creates a nice finish.
Short cut: Of course you can cut out and color small pairs of animals, but a great saving is to use animal stickers, to carry them on the top edge.
Teacher tip: Another teacher tip is to punch a hole on each side of the ark and tie a string so that the kids home to easily celebrate this great story of loyalty.
