Tennessee Graduated Drivers License Program in Laymans Terms

Getting a driver’s license is a monumental event for all teenagers across the country. It is one step towards freedom and gives them a little more freedom. Each state has its own specific laws regarding issuing a teenage driver’s license. Tennessee teenagers must complete a licensed driver’s license program before receiving free driving privileges. The first step in getting a driver’s license in Tennessee is to obtain a learner’s Learner’s Permit. Allow fifteen. A learner’s permit allows you to drive only as long as you are with an adult licensed driver over the age of 21. With a learner’s permit, you are not allowed to drive between 10:00 and 6:00 am. Everyone in the car must use their seatbelts and children must be properly restrained.

You cannot, having accumulated 6 or more points, have been at an. -fault crash, or conviction of two seatbelt violations to achieve this level of license. Your license will still be the same but the restrictions will be removed. Once you have held this license for at least twelve months and are at least eighteen years old, you can then graduate to a Regulation Class D license.

Once you complete these requirements without any incidents of citations or accidents, you will become a licensed regular driver in the State of Tennessee.
