The Montana Hunter Training Program, which is overseen by Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, is responsible for helping Montana hunters become as safe and responsible as possible. Hunters in Montana who wish to purchase a resident or out-of-state hunting license must obtain a certificate of completion from this program prior to their purchase. This requirement applies to hunters who were born after January 1, 1985 and to hunter programs in other states as well as in educationtime hunter to return home after a time enjoying this game without any harm to himself or to others for their industry in hunting.
The dedicated men and women in Montana are responsible for volunteering as instructors for the Montana Hunter Education Program. These volunteer instructors share their knowledge, experience and time with beginning Montana hunters, providing them with the tools they need to become safe and responsible while taking care of wildlife stewardship as well as rich hunting heritage. These programs are open to students who are 11 years or older and can complete up to 12 hours. During these 12 hours the subject hunting student will learn how to hunt safety, firearm safety, modern guns, intelligence and weapons will learn more in shooting skills
Students will also learn the proper way to prepare for hunting, how to be safe outdoors, how to plan and what to do afterward, special hunting and safety precautions, and Montana hunting laws and regulations. The program also covers wildlife conservation, management and identification. After completing all these topics and completing the field course, the student hunter will be expected to take the final exam, after which he will receive his certificate of completion.
The huge state of Montana with its rich hunting heritage has taken on the task of correcting this smile for hunters. Through this, the rate of hunting related accidents has fallen drastically, proving once again that hunter education programs are working and working all over the country.
