Hillsborough Community College (HCC) is a major institution in Hillsborough County, Florida, on the west coast of the central county in which Tampa is located. Hillsborough Community College opened in 1968 and now has more than 40,000 students on six campuses and satellites. While many Continuing Education courses require attendance at HCC, many courses can be completed partially or fully online, making it easy and convenient to participate in these enrichment courses, even if they are busy or unable to attend the HCC campus.
Continuing Education Program fees vary by course. While HCC’s “Medical Administration with Medical Billing and Coding” costs $1,995 to take (according to HCC’s 2008 Catalog), the course is called Fun Food Kids” fee is just $15. Although professional courses versus those designed for training those seeking professional development have distinctly different fees, another major factor in fee decisions is closely aligned with the number of contact hours (hours of contact) spent completing the course.
