Astrological Sun Signs: Leo the Lion (July 23-August 22)

Once an obscure and “underground” body of knowledge and practice, astrology has enjoyed an explosion of popularity in recent decades, partly in the emerging New Age movement. Although there is a temptation for people to use astrology as a shortcut to understanding their own way of life – and human interaction in general – many who understand its principles and use it in balance with other approaches find that it can be powerful. instrument Generally, Sun signs (what people refer to when they ask “what’s your sign?”) paint the overall picture of different Personality Type. They are organized around the four elements of traditional alchemy: Earth, Air, Water and Fire (and revolve in that order). The whole zodiac consists of twelve signs, which begin with Aries. Leo, whose symbol is Leo, is the fifth in the Zodiac.

The fire sign is Leo, so befits natives born under the sun as the ruling planet. His stone is amber. Certain perceived qualities of Leo are attributed to this sign: strength, wealth, energy, and darker traits such as pride and dominance or an unusual personality. The male lion roams like the kings of the jungle (this is a myth, otherwise – they live in the savannah) and let out a good roar when the life force is poured out. Female lions are more domestic and not so inclined to roam. How does this relate to human personality? Leos tend to prefer the mission of passion to guide the course of their lives. Creativity and enthusiasm are thus associated with this sign, as well as impatience with more “earthly” forces that can be associated with everyday society and slow processes. Leos are known to prioritize drama in a safe and sensible way.

It may help, when trying to understand this sign, to set aside the large lion and consider its smaller prototype: the cat. Cats can be alternately detached and loving as their mood dictates. Many of them want attention, which is often marked by Leo. A Leo, without an audience, might well wonder what the matter was.

In love as in life, Leos can be expansive. This has its positive side (liberality in emotional and material gifts) and negative (transgressing perhaps something too fierce and overwhelming). Their passion can be combined with a firm faith. Leo’s can be attracted to native Earth signs (Taurus, Capricorn, and Virgo) but at the same time they find long-term care difficult because Earth signs bring them down to earth when they burn, burn, burn. When Air sings, Leos can have better luck: the combination of passion and intensity with movement and inspiration can generate a possible romance or friendship bond.

Leos will blend in well within the kingdom of fire, too, though there are certain challenges. Together, Aries and Leo can have a difficult time deciding who is in charge. Leo and Leo would compete over who gets the attention. You may find a very happy match in Leo Sagittarius. Philosophy and creative exuberance can make for a fulfilling life journey. Leo and Libra is another very powerful combination. Libra’s importance in balance can curb Leo’s excessive tendencies without fuss. The two have almost a similar love in their fervent spirit and face, i.e., different skills.
