Disney Wants Poster Artist Drew Struzan to Return to ‘Star Wars’

Disney and Lucasfilm have not yet tipped their hands in the search for a “Star Wars: Episode VII” director; However, it has been revealed to fans that at least one familiar face will be returning to the franchise in poster artist Struzan.

Struzan has been responsible for the art of the franchise since its inception and, while he’s trying to stay retired, he can take over those duties for the next trilogy of films. In a recent interview with Fanhattan, Struzan revealed that Disney had already contacted him for his speculation on the project.

After revealing this, he jokingly noted that he is trying his best to stay retired and “paint for 35 years” Star Wars, which are longer than many fans of freedom.

But the open opens, noting that “there is always a chance” that is “a real temptation” to the job. He continues to urge Struzan to try very hard, even if it takes him away from his family, as he now prefers to spend time with “green trees and blue skies” instead of “being locked up in the studio.” ”

His last words on the matter of keeping the doors cracked, as he says “All things are possible”; he “never say never.

Whether Struzan comes or not, this is still a good sign that Disney and Lucasfilm are about the legacy of the franchise. Not only is Struzan one of the most revered poster artists of all time, but his work is also synonymous with “Star Wars.” Hopefully, the studio will be able to entice him so that fans will be greeted with some familiar sights once the posters make their way to theater lobbies in two years.
