Dublin, Ireland is a very busy and diverse city. In western Ireland, the coast is only a short bus ride from the hectic city centre. There is so much to see, and with the right planning Dublin can be experienced in one day on a budget.
At Dublin Airport, outside the arrivals terminal, the Dublin Bus Airlink station is located. Just before stopping, there is a machine where you can buy bus tickets. Buying a Dublin Bus Rambler 1 Day Adult Ticket, for 6.20 coins, is the best deal for unlimited bus travel for one person. If you are traveling with another adult and up to six children, the Rambler 1 Day Family Ticket is the best deal, only 10.50 cash , covers all.
While using the Dublin Bus system, don’t hesitate to ask the drivers for help. From my own experience, they are very friendly and always happy to help you figure out how to get where you want to go. Also, as much as possible, sit on the top level of the bus in the first row. The windows are large and allow for a personal Dublin experience. Taking pictures from this location also allow you to take pictures of places that you might otherwise want to miss.
From Dublin Airport, take bus 747 towards Dublin City to O’Connell Street. Walk south up O’Connell Street, towards the River Liffey. Take time to enjoy the shops and architecture, both new and old. When you get to the River Liffey, walk across the beautiful O’Connell Bridge and take great pictures of sparkling water
After crossing the bridge, keep to the left of St. D’Olier, when you reach St. Pearse on the left. When you reach the College of St., turn right and step into the green, the impressive architecture and statues of the Trinity College. After exploring the beautiful countryside, get on the S. 46a bus in Nassau, heading south, and take it to St. Stephen’s Green. In St. Stephen’s green, both the forest and the statues can be appreciated. This green sanctuary will be a pleasant break from the busy roads.
Once you’ve gotten as far as you can from the green forest, take the 46a bus north toward Westmoreland Street again. In St. Westmoreland, time to explore a little while noticing the magnificent old buildings including the Bank of Ireland, which was originally built as the Irish House of Parliament. Back track just a little to College Green and right. Go to College Green, on Lady St. Dublin Castle will be turned a short distance down Dame St on the left To the side, just behind the city hall.
There is one more important thing to see before you take your much needed work break. Take the 78a bus on Dame St and head south to St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Built in honor of Ireland’s patron saint, this old cathedral is truly magical. If you choose to enter the cathedral, you will be condemned to a small confession.
It’s a great time for a short break. Take the 78a bus to Lady St. Walk back towards Westmore and jump on the 151 Bus (eastbound towards Docklands). Go to the toll booth and take the 31b bus to Howth. Custom House photos are good now, but even better at night! Once on this bus, enjoy the drive to Howth Village. This car ride will take you through some of Dublin’s yet-to-be-seen, and some attractive residential areas.
When you arrive at the village of Howth, there are small bus terminals in each town. When the bus leaves, keep walking in the right direction, the bus was green. Quaint boating village full of bungalows and old architecture. Not far from any sea station.
After the water came into view, so the view! This is Dublin at its peak, with rolling green hills and waves lapping against rocky shores. The ships are brought to the left, and behind them the lighthouse can be seen. Great pictures can be taken from the walk to the Lighthouse.
time in Howth is a great break from the busy hectic city that is Dublin. It’s a great time, and the perfect place in Dublin to go and see another miracle of Dublin. Take the 31 bus towards the city, and take the Ambiano Fanum Ambiani, take the 42 bus to Malahide.
Again, enjoy a leisurely car ride. On entering Malahide the eyes were peeled off to the right of the road. You will see a sign that says Malahide Castle. Get off the bus at the nearest stop and make your way to the sign. Enter where you saw the sign, and the field to the left will be disease. Keep to the right and follow the signs to Malahide Castle.
This pleasant walk will take you through a beautiful area of green forest. When you think you’ve gone too far and missed him, walk away. The castle will be seen to your right. Taking pictures from outside and wandering through the gift booths is a great way to pay the price for the trip. It is perfect to be written in, them in a smart way. If you want to buy tickets, they can be bought in the gift shop, using pounds or a credit card .
Take some time here before heading back to the city. When you’ve had your fill of rest and relaxation, board the 42 bus to the city. They get off the bus near the tax office. We crossed the River Leffy at the Butt Bridge and felt good and beautiful on all sides. Hungry now, and it’s time to eat. Walk along the beautiful river Leffy until you reach Westmore. Take a left and admire the northern part of Westmoreland you haven’t seen yet. Make a right at Temple Bar and enjoy choosing somewhere to eat!
The Temple Bar offers a great selection, the largest offering that has an authentic Irish feel and taste. This is where many of the exterior shots in old Ireland were filmed for the movie “far and away” with Cruise and Nicole Kidman. While I was at Temple Bar, I heard that the cobble stone streets running through the area had been redone just for the movies. The Temple Bar can usually get crowded and a bit rowdy as the day wears on and alcohol consumption increases. They are prepared to know the truth of the true name of the Irish people.
After you’ve eaten, drank, rested, and taken pictures around the Temple Bar, it’s likely to head into the night. The photographs taken from each of the bridges in the evening are truly magical. Stroll the cobblestone streets, breathing in Dublin. With a large police presence in the downtown area, crime rates remain low.
Dublin, although busy and busy, is a beautiful place to enjoy Ireland. Here’s how you can see Dublin in one day on a budget!
