With all the new movies approaching for release in spring 2012, deciding which ones to watch can be daunting. More difficult, but deciding what is not worth standing in line at the theater and destroying the hard earned money for.
After a few weeks of watching teaser trailers, though, I think I’ve found five movies that you should either avoid, or at least wait until they come out on DVD for less. Taste in movies is, of course, very subjective, and many moviegoers may disagree with me on this, but for several reasons, this movie could not be the only short list of movies-to-see this coming spring. But if there is anyone who wants to ignore me, I am given free days.
The Devil Within. A woman hires an exorcist to find out if her mother, in a mental institution for murder, is actually homicidal or possessed by evil spirits. The Devil Within was to me a pale imitation of The Exorcist in a healthier and more mature language. The dialogue was a bit too corny in many places, and it was hard to pay attention even to the short sex. I couldn’t see myself sitting through the whole movie. The date of payment is February 6.
The House at the End of the Street. Another movie about a mom and her daughter who is on the verge of murdering a psychopath, The House at the End of the Street doesn’t even rate a single star in my book. In a movie like this, you have to sympathize for the characters, and it’s a no brainer given by the cute teen and her not-too-dirty mom, but for me it was really ho hum. Set for release on April 20th.
The The Woman in Black. The teenager continues to a remote village and ends up opposite the ghost of a scorned woman, which scares the heck out of the locals. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned , but I think I’m the Future Woman in Black< i>.< /i> Due for release on February 3rd.
Means War this Means War. Two of the most dangerous CIA agents, friends in real life life, competing in the same woman. Lots of action, but a lot of action is better. This Means War will only appeal to those who want to see lots of shooting and explosions. This movie is scheduled for release on February 17
One For Money. Im a big fan of Janet Evanovich mystery fans, but this one didn’t turn out well it is for protection. Katherine Heigel is a great actress, but she doesn’t get to know Stephanie Plum from reading Evanovich. It has some potential, and I might just get the DVD. One for Money won’t be taking my money in theaters when it’s released on January 27th.
