If you’re looking for an inexpensive, no-frills, easy-to-use digital camera that takes beautiful pictures, then the Kodak EasyShare C300 is the camera for you. This is also a great camera to give your kids.
I will be the first to admit that I am not a digital camera guru. My first digital camera was bought from eBay for $10. Well, it worked for me for a while, but then I decided I wanted a camera that took sharper pictures, so I hit the Internet to search. Cameras cost less than $150 for .
After visiting many websites and reading a ton of reviews, I settled on the Kodak EasyShare C300. It was inexpensive, not full of features that I wouldn’t use, had a decent size viewing screen and the reviews I read were pretty good.
Kodak EasyShare C300 is a 3.2 mega pixels camera built in flash, auto shutter, hour and time setting, night time setting, 5x continuous digital zoom, 10 second delay timer, and no audio video capability. It comes with a wrist strap, usb cable, user guide, batteries, and software to transfer pictures from the camera to your computer.
It is easy to install on your computer software. The software makes it easy to transfer images from the camera to your computer. My biggest complaint is that there are a few steps to get the pictures into the folder I want on my computer. By default, all photos go into the Kodak EasyShare folder that is automatically placed in your My Photos folder. The images are also numbered and saved as 001.jpg. It takes me a few steps to edit the picture and file it with the name I want.
I love the precision and simplicity of taking pictures. The pictures are crisp and clear. The internal memory can hold up to 20 pictures but there is room for an SD/MMC memory card to allow more space. I only use the internal memory since it’s so easy to transfer pictures when it’s full. The flash is automatically set to auto when you turn it on, so all you have to do is turn it on and take pictures. Simplicity is the best.
I’ll be honest and say that I don’t really see a feature that I cared about that’s good, since it’s not a big feature of this camera. There is no reason to send a video without sound. I see the ads fine but the feature is not used. If you really want video features then this is not the camera for you. Zoom falls into this category as well. It’s not a feature I actually use and it lacks quality.
The 1.5 inch LCD Viewing screen is a nice size and easy to see. You can access all your menu options with a simple push of one button. Most of the options and features can be saved from the menu that shows on the preview screen. There is also a review button to review all pictures and save videos in memory, as well as a carbon button, a delete button and a share button. . I have never used the sharing button to share photos with one click.
I bought rechargeable AA batteries and I had no problems with the batteries running. The batteries last longer when you’re not using the screen viewing, but I still use it all the time. I change the batteries regularly when I use rechargeables so I don’t know how many pictures can actually be taken before the batteries fail. I guess I could easily take about 200 pictures before changing the batteries. The camera requires 2 AA batteries.
The Kodak EasyShare C300 camera takes great pictures that print out beautifully. I also used this camera to take wedding photos for my friend and print for my friend who was impressed with the results.
This is an awesome camera that is so easy to use that even my 8 year old daughter can use it without problems. It has dropped a few times and the only case is the battery cell that got a little bent but it still works just fine.
Overall, the Kodak EasyShare C300 is an awesome starter camera and the best choice for kids. With great features for techies starting out, crisp and clear pictures, brilliant prints, and a price tag of around $100, you just can’t go wrong with this point and shoot digital camera.
