In what ways are they looking? Hmmm, tortilla chips sound good. But there is so much variety that one can be overwhelmed walking through the island’s chips. My main purchase on this island is tortilla chips. You can find options ranging from baked, fried, grain, flour, seasoned, seasoned, organic, and on and on. So which ones do you choose for your next snacking occasion? Let me tell you a little about one of my new favorites
Toast Picks.A Fun Minute
Toasted corn tortilla chips are back at least new on the market (a year or so). Tostitos took their classic round tortilla chip and made it look like a mini-pie. Imagine getting a small version of a taco salad bowl from a restaurant. The scoops come in a certain package for about $3.00 each. They also usually go on sale like the last pack I bought 2 for $4. I was paying for the same comparable price brand of tortilla chips. The tortillas have a fresh, slightly salty flavor compared to the whole grain tortilla chip.
No MoreDouble Dipping!!
I’ve always loved tortilla chips – some brand and really flavor. But Tostitos are becoming my new favorite. I was introduced to these lovely chips by our stepmother and now I am hooked. Chips can be extremely versatile in our home. My main obsession is just eating chips with melted alum cheese on them. Recently we have expanded with these chips by using them both in dip and in more recipes. My two favorite ways to eat them are to dip them in cheese & bean dip and making killer baked nachos. (Check out my profile for a recipe for these killer toasted nachos, which are best done when you roll up the toasties.)
With just a few ingredients (see below) you can whip up toasties! healthy snacks are available at any time. Take some and have yourself a great snack!
