Every summer my daughter and I always go on a little trip. I leave my son with the old man and go, so that the mother may have a daughter in time. This year I decided to try something a little cheaper and go camping. So I packed our bags, picked up my sister-in-law and we headed to Camp Dearborn in Milford, Michigan on Wednesday morning.
My first impression of camp Dearborn was that it looked very nice. It was very clean and really big. I felt a little confused because of the size and no signs, but we did. Checked in at the office and you got a lottery number. We brought our tent so that we only need a basic camp site. Basic camping sites cost 21 per night and includes electricity. It’s quite a deal in my eyes. All the other places where he checked double that price. It took us a while to find our camp as there were no signs; surely we would not be first if we were in the place. When we went for a week, there weren’t a ton of people around so that made things a little easier.
When we checked in, we were given a list of activities. They have team building activities, which offers something special for the kids every day of the week. These are typically not offered on weekends. On Thursday morning the kids went to the building and did all the arts and crafts for free. We had to bring one coat of paint, but we supplied everything else. I checked all the other places for funds for arts and crafts. Camp Dearborn activities were all free for campers living there.
Another thing included is if there are delays in rowing the boats. We did this too, and the kids loved it. I can’t say that we adults liked the boats too much, but this is because we did all the work while the kids reaped the benefits. Sound familiar? Something kids tend to do a lot. The kids enjoyed it as it was.
In the cafeteria, they also perform activities and sometimes with themes. It so happened that we went there in the middle of the week. So they did each operation so that in the morning they all went around medieval times. Every night they have something in the bottle. On Thursday night they had a mini Saturnalia, which was all free. The kids only had to get tickets to the booth before they could participate in the games. These two leap over the moon and set up a lot of games. Kids also got various prizes in all games in all games. The kids did what they wanted and they made small lots. On Friday night they celebrated the end of the week with a dance. They had a DJ outside and the music was blaring. The kids packed it. Most of the youths in the camp camp and kids could send it and they wanted all the fun. .
All I have to say is that teenagers need to be better trained. They act to make things better and think everyone knows what’s going on there. They were not helpful when we had questions, and when they did provide an answer, the answer was prompt with no additional information. There were a few things we did not know, and we did not learn from them. We got lucky and had some really cool people staying next to us, we camp here a lot, so they told us a lot of information about everything we were missing. We’ll know what we’re doing next year, but we’re not doing it with the staff.
The staff was a pet peeve of mine though. All in all we had a great time camping. Early in the morning they clean the whole park and bathrooms they also have people who go around during the day to look after things. clean During the summer we were reluctant to return to camp a few times. We will go during the week though so we can have access to everything for the kids and because it’s not as packed on the weekends. We stayed Wednesday to Saturday. On Friday things started to get really busy and crazy, they had every place filled to capacity with the adults leaving and staying super late. If you have kids, during the week they have a great time camping with them.
