Chetek, Wisconsin is an affordable, luxury vacation getaway that’s great for honeymoons or just a romantic weekend. Truly an oasis of ruggedness nestled in the woods here in Wisconsin. It’s the perfect place to get away for a few days.
I decided on this wonderful trip in the book for my husband feeling birthday on the 30th. I heard about this place Canoe Bay which was located near Rice Lake. I started researching it online, and after seeing the pictures, at this point I knew I needed to book.
Canoe Bay is a 280 acre farm just outside of Chetek in Northern Wisconsin that is for adults only, so no kids are allowed on the premises, which is really nice. Also, to help keep the area clean, no grooming is allowed and no smoking is allowed inside or outside the premises. We had to walk about five hundred yards to get smoke, which was fine with us.
To begin with, I want you to know the Inn’s serene, calm, and slow-paced atmosphere. This is the place for you to escape the city and enjoy the life you enjoy. So you won’t find a lot of crazy food, wild activities to do, or a bar to kick back and party all night. So if slow, peaceful and relaxing is not what you are looking for, I do not recommend staying here. But if you are looking for this type of vacation, you definitely want to be in this place!
There are a few activities to be done at the Inn. You can take a hike for miles through beautiful forest walking trails and enjoy the spirit of the coast or head. go down to the beach and swim in one of three private pools that are spring-fed and crystal clear. Do you want to go on the water and see the stars at night? Grab a boat and paddle to the middle of the lake and lay back and enjoy.
You can walk through organicgardens and smell all the seasonal crops as the chef makes your food. The resort also offers kayaking, snowshoeing in the winter, a fitness center and bike trails. If you are looking for a relaxing night inside the cabin, you can order the library and enjoy a book, magazine, movie or CD.
Looking for other romantic options? The resort will also help you book horse-drawn carriage ride a Wisconsin country road, set up lakeside picnics for you, private to your room, and much more. If you want champagne, wine, flowers, or a cheese tray in the hall on the arrival of the master, let them know that even with the book. Everything, big or small, will be taken care of for you. .
For dinner, breakfast and lunch are delivered right to your room each morning and afternoon. For lunch you will eat at the pool’s wonderful dining room which is a prix fixe menu for you. Everyone pays $75 and the last 5 of you get dinner and give away the winning wine. The dress code here is casual elegance.
The view of the lake from the restaurant is perfect. What a romantic place to have a candle lit with your loved one for dinner. The only bad part is that wine is the main drink that the restaurant offers. No one was selected for drunkenness and only a few beer options were selected.
For hosting choices, you have many different places to choose from. There are cottages in the game, the hill, the peak, or the lake. You can stay at the Inn where you can find a heavenly room, a deluxe room or a room. The architecture of the building was done by Frank Lloyd Wright, who is known as America’s greatest architect of all time. Its buildings are unique and very original.
Then the towns are absolutely one of the best places I’ve ever stayed in Wisconsin, and I’ve stayed in many places in the state. The villa was amazing and better than I expected it to be. Inside there are 2,000 square feet of space with French doors that bring you an additional 1,500 square feet outside. I loved just sitting on the boat looking out to the water and watching the birds and other animals as I sipped wine.
Entering the Villa, you will see high ceilings with arches, large windows that light up the rooms and give you a perfect view of the lake and the woods. The floors and walls are made of beautiful wood dining/living room you will see a large Chilton limestone fireplace which is part of the focal point of the room.
The master bedroom was a room that I absolutely love. In this bed the Emperor size was larger than the King size. It was located in front of the bay window giving you a large and wonderful view. So it was perfect for everyone to get up in the morning.
There is another large rock in the master bedroom that we had lit all weekend before drinking wine. The bathroom in the room has 2 person tiles steam shower, Finnish sauna, Jacuzzi tub and third fireplace. ! Really, what more could you ask for? Accommodations here were well worth $1000 for him for the weekend. There are times in life when it comes to flaunting, and when it was time, I didn’t want to leave this place.
But if you’re looking for something a little cheaper, the other amenities I mentioned above are also very welcome! They are a little smaller, but they still offer you amazing views, fireplaces, and use the outdoors. Don’t get confused hssc. Heavenly guests told me it was one of their favorite places to stay.
Overall I loved the site and plan on coming back soon! My husband was thrilled to have this as his gift for a relaxing birthday weekend. We could spend time as two and rekindle our love for each other. I think it would be perfect for any elderly couple who is looking for a weekend getaway full of romance and beautiful nature surrounding you. The accommodations were top notch, the friendly service was amazing, the food and wine was amazing and the scene was peaceful and perfect.
