The movie, The Longest Yard is a great movie starring Adam Sandler and Chris Rock who work really well together and have great chemistry in this action thriller. The film is directed by Peter Segal and he does a great job of getting the actors together and in the right position to capture the viewer’s attention.
The film begins by introducing Adam Sandler as a football player named Paul Crewe who played quarterback and was very. good in his prime. However, one night at his girlfriend’s party he got drunk, got out and sped off in his car, was chased by police cars and thrown into jail.
The prison where Crewe is in Hazen custody is run by James Cromwell. Cromwell runs a football team in the stars prison guards in a football game that plays against other teams. Hazen is a huge fean and wants the team to improve so he asks Crewe to put together a football team to play Against the guards. Hazen sees potential in the game as big sports companies as ESPN have committed to televising sports as well as criminals; convicts, guns and guards all in one big game that should attract a large television audience.
Crewe is allowed to meet a group of prison inmates with the help of a caretaker played by Chris Rock. They organize aid to criminals and lowly criminals who want revenge on the prison guards for all the ill treatment and beatings handed down by the guards. Sandler and Petra train men and even help criminals black who only play basketball. A black criminal once Sandler is challenged to play basketball by another inmate and the lenses he admires from another the players This adds much needed speed to the wide receivers and the running backs team.
When Warden Hazen begins to worry that his team will be beaten, he plants an explosive in Crewe’s prison cell, which detonates when the guard enters and kills him. Warden Hazen threatens to blame the massacre of Chirs Rock in Crewe if he does not throw the game at the guards. Crewe will be in prison for the rest of his life.
In the Big Lottery Game it’s fun to watch and watch real football goals. Let’s watch it and watch it from the first movie. With the game on the line, Sandler must throw the game and his teammates to win the big game or win and serve the rest of his life in prison. He chooses the latter option and cheers for his teammates as he wins a big game.
