The IncrediBlock Fisher Price is the best toy to catch a child from infancy to toddlerhood. With four sides and a top full of activity, IncrediBlock can keep your child busy and building skills for hours.
Although Fisher-Price recommends this toy for nine months and up, my twins got IncrediBlock for Christmas when they were seven months old. By this time they were sitting and just beginning to crawl. The club offers four sides with the perfect activities to catch the passengers.
Gemini first figured out the Stack and Spill side. When they put the blocks in the columns, they put a little toy hanging on the train. But what they loved most was pushing the bar and all the blocks falling. This side was a great precursor to teaching them how to stack logs. Now stack blocks on each other without using IncrediBlock.
Then they found the Sort and Store side. They can open the blocks in the door and then open to receive them. I liked this part the most because it was a great place to store all the Peek-a-Blocks so I didn’t trip over them.
The Hip and Tumble side reminds me of that Price Is Right game Plinko. You lower the log at the top and paint around on these brightly colored keys. However, if you don’t, make sure you pull out the blocks at the bottom to get a little support.
The last part, Plug and Play, my little boys play. It has a mirror and two outside cutouts for inserting the sticks.
The best part, for parents, is that you can try all of these virtually on the Fisher Price website before you decide to buy.
When the twins started walking on stage, IncrediBlock was a great incentive for them to pull themselves up. They can both stand side by side and play with Spin and Learn top.
IncrediBlock comes with eight Peek-a-Blocks inserted at the top of the block with different sounds (i.e. if the block had a dog barking . The Peek-a-Clocks are the perfect size for little hands. Each block has a 3D image inside that the twins could look at from different angles.
In addition to the blocks that came with IncrediBlock, we purchased several additional Peek-a-Blocks. It’s a festive day with 12 Christmas themed blocks. We also bought a Visual set that included six blocks with different optical illusions and a texture set with six blocks whose centers felt different.
As the twins grew up, they piled up the blocks. They also move around the room using IncrediBlock with other toys. The four- and five-year-old twins’ friends always make a beeline for IncrediBlock whenever they come to play.
Even after a year and a half with two little ones playing with it all the time, IncrediBlock is in great condition. But with the twins approaching two, we decided to pass the IncrediBlock up to their 10-month-old cousin. But it will be missed!
