Florida Keys: A Great Vacation Spot

During our spring break in March 2012, my wife and I decided to follow my parents’ advice from years ago and visit the Florida Keys. They visited three times and told us each time we had to go. From Key Largo to Key West, there is so much to do and enjoy that we couldn’t make up our minds. than the few days we had. Fortunately, our club has vacation resorts in Marathon in the middle of the Florida Keys. Her location allowed us to travel in both directions and she shared in a few of the Keys’ most excellent attractions.

Place

We stayed at The Hammocks at Marathon on Vaca Key. We paid with points through our Bluegreen Vacation Club ownership, but rooms are also available starting at $195 per night, depending on room size and season. Maximum rates for our one-bedroom unit average about $250 per night. The complex has studios in addition to one and two bedroom units with kitchenettes, televisions, and laundry facilities. The pool area also serves a tiki hut grill and a full board bar, and the chefs will take out any guest’s grill daily for a small fee. He pushed, but Marathon has an airport to fly to.

Restaurant

Salty Grille Team, Marathon

We found our favorite Marathon restaurant within walking distance of Hammocks. Salsi Waterfront Grille is known on the island for its tiki huts, chicken, burgers, salads, pizzas, and seafood. We sat in the cool breeze at the outside tables. Customers can also take their own sea cucumbers to the grill for a fee. In additives for the best food and the service we received, we had plenty of horseshoes by walking the boat. and billiard tables (both free). Our family of three for under $30.

Concha Seafood Company, Key West

One day we took off and drove 45 miles on US 1 South to Key West. While there we dined at Concha Seafood Company, a popular restaurant on the island, near the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. We had discount tickets pulls from the ride. All shellfish and shrimp, mahi mahi, and crab are favorites. They eat burgers, chicken, sandwiches, and non-seafood salads. We listened to good island music and watched sports on the big screen televisions. For dessert we walked across the street to the Key West-lime Shoppe for some awesome key lime pie.

Sambrano Beach, Marathon

With so many beaches to choose from, we asked the concierge for recommendations. Sambrano Beach is only a couple of miles down the main road, and we enjoyed it. The beach is small, but big on fun. We built castles and walked on a small coral island in addition to running into a large playground. Admission and coach are both free.

The theater of the sea, Islamorada

Animal lovers will especially enjoy the North in the city of Islamorada. Theater Sea is a marine park specializing in dolphins, sea lions, and parrots. We saw the sea animals and parrots funny shows cats rescued from strays and other hostile environments. Most of them gather in the enclosure, but many roam freely through the park. Everyone receives the best care. Most of them walked up to us for love and attention. My wife is a loving cat with a heart; She, our son, and pet and with cats played for over an hour. It was a very difficult time to leave.

Hemingway House and Museum, Key West

During our days in Key West, we paid $34 ($12.50 for each adult and $8 for our child) per ride to ride the city tour of the historic town. part of the town Stop No. 6 was the famous Hemingway Home and Museum. Because of my wife’s love of cats, we just had to visit Hemmingway’s house. I was guided through the house while she and our son walked around the grounds walking as many of the 44 cats as they could find. All of Hemingway’s direct descendants are snowballs. I learned about Hemingway’s life and he took a short writing course and wrote his studies. He wrote famous compositions (such as “The Old Man and the Sea” and “For Whom the Bell Tolls”) while living in Key West. Then I joined my wife and son in the yard, and we petted and played with the cats, which were very well taken care of.

The vacations were going too fast. We only did four days, but it was much more. If we get the chance to return to the Florida Keys, we definitely would.
