Forget about the guidelines of how Gamblers Anonymous started or how it works, hear from someone who has actually attended these meetings before. Meetings, unfortunately, are not all peaches n’ cream either.
Walking into the room for the first time can be quite overwhelming. Many others are sitting in the room around the round table ready for the newbie to sit and tell there story. Meanwhile, if the couple sits next to each other in a separate room dealing with each other protected by gambling effects. their lives No, it’s not pleasant to continue, but we haven’t started discussions yet that we’re sure to throw up in your trunk.
After you’ve made a list of 17 different things that you must read, and tell me if it’s true or if you’ve never heard of it before . In this list you will read things like “ I thought about gambling or “I thought about death”< /a> and other things like that. you will not tell anyone that you are not only the leader of the group, but everyone else looks at you as the perfect you are a pretty little liar it is vain to say nothing to something.
Then people start around the table telling their story of how they became addicted to gambling and how it seriously affected not only their lives but also their loved ones. It was very sad to hear several stories and after an exhausting mental session everyone went outside whether to smoke cigarettes or just get out of the building and get a new one some air (lol, it’s not an oxy-moron) but what started as a session to get rid of your French gambling turned into a side session about how much money people have won in numbers. on occasions By the time we were done outside almost everyone felt like jumping on the first train and heading to the next casino or something. It was so weird that I can’t even put into words what I really felt except that I couldn’t wait the heck out of it.
Then of course we go back inside and start talking about God and praying about our situations, but the whole time in the back of my mind I think about how all these people were so different when we were in the meeting and then they talked like us. then they were different. So needless to say the first session was absolutely horrible and I really didn’t want to go back. However, I tried again with the same result and then, as it was, I never returned.
Oh, I almost forgot about the hot lines enough and 800 numbers, you can call whenever you feel like gambling. . When the meetings didn’t work, I tried to go this way, and now I’m laughing, but when I called the number of your kid, no one answered. I was confused, but I called as many times with no one ever answering on the other end. Lol, thank goodness there wasn’t a death hotline, although we hear people may have gambling problems take heart. busy For me he was writing and fantasy sports in football and baseball leagues. The only thing I’m giving away today is the March Madness brackets. $5 for a month to deal, accountant, that’s what I call control, lol.
